Tasted by bdhanna on 3/26/2021 & rated 89 points: Liked it better on release, but still has great attributes.
The cork was perfect after a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days. This wine started with spicy fruit; as it opened up, this wine showed better balance. On day two, this wine had softened to reveal increased depth, texture, and integrated complexity. Dark red color with no oxidation, and clarity is good. Aromas of sweet cherry, and vanilla. Flavors of cherry, raspberry, and baking spice. This Grenache has a medium finish. This age worthy wine may have more years of life left. A great fruit source and a good winemaking effort by Michael Dashe. Pair with Charcuterie and Olive Tapenade or grilled Lamb Chops. (532 views)
Tasted by drinkfunkyanddance on 1/13/2013: Similar to my last note. Less deep blue fruit, more red-fruited notes (raspberry), but maybe more hollow. Less delicious, but balanced for a CA grenache still. (I am really not a grenache lover, to be honest.) (2220 views)
Tasted by Cabfrancophile on 8/25/2012: Casa Sena Tasting, August 2012 (La Casa Sena retail shop, Santa Fe, NM): Simple, herbal cherry, fruit forward, mid-weight, mild tannin. Good, but seems along the lines of a basic CdR (or Beaujolais) in style. Bit pricey for what it is IMO. Made with ambient yeasts, elevage in neutral 500 L hogsheads. (3108 views)
Tasted by joannevicious on 4/3/2012 & rated 85 points: Just opened. Getting a lot of fruit leather. Way too much for my taste. Not a bad wine, but too much dried fruit for my taste. Hoping the pepper shows up tomorrow (3053 views)
Tasted by drinkfunkyanddance on 2/22/2012: This wine is fine--stellar for a CA grenache, but still just fine. Buoyant fruit and vaguely peppery/spice aromas make it seem like it it would go down easy, but it really needed to be paired with food. With dinner this was great--refreshing and even palate cleansing. Nice wine, but not life-changing. Stick with the Zins from the Enfants line. (2956 views)
Tasted by Joshiemac on 1/28/2012 & rated 87 points: This was a tale of two wines. On night one it was all spritzy red fruit with a touch of VA. Interesting, but a little disjointed. By night 2 it had mellowed, showing chalky strawberry meringue, some cracked black pepper, and a smooth acidic backbone. Decent stuff, but I liked the previous vintage a little better. (2804 views)
Tasted by drinkfunkyanddance on 11/13/2011: Hmm. Not as good as the Les Enfents Terribles Zinfandels, but not bad. Bright blue carbonic fruits, a good dose of acid tang (maybe a teensy bit of VA). Maybe needs some time in the bottle. Scrumptious, but I'll stick to the Zins for the price. (1602 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
