Tasted by Burgnick on 7/19/2023 & rated 92 points: Good mineral attack alongside citrus, yellow fruit, custard and crushed rock. Palate had very good tension with excellent balance between fruit and acidity. 92+ (740 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 4/27/2023 & rated 95 points: Pale to mid straw. Absolutely singing. Stone fruit, grippy minerality and tension galore. An initial mid palate ripeness gives way to tension and mineral grip, with air. Equisite line and cut. Goes on and on. Last of the case, al of which have been excellent, but it’s gone out on a high. Just what one wants in a top Puligny. ***** (837 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 12/26/2021 & rated 94 points: Pale straw, green tinged. Vibrant and zesty with plenty of lime cut. Lightly floral with hints of white fruit, but this feels a little tighter and leaner than previous bottles. Fills out as it warms, with a touch of vanilla spice coming through. Even by Puligny standards this is at the classical, elegant end of the spectrum. Vibrant, minerally and long. ****1/2 (1146 views)
Tasted by honest bob on 11/6/2021 & rated 94 points: From 75cl, perfect cork, opened but not decanted 1 hour. Hints of struck match, oak and chalk on the restrained nose. The palate is a revelation: supple ultra-ripe lime fruit, bright acidity, chalky minerality and an architectural relationship between the sheer weight of concentration and the lightness of superb "mineral" structure. On the very long finish, a hint of grapefruit acidity/oil numbness on the tongue. Brilliant now, surely a decade in store, but why wait? And for that matter, why buy any other white wine at this price point when this is so exquisite? 94P. (1192 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 12/26/2020 & rated 95 points: Very classic. This continues to go from strength to strength. Vibrant, mineral, long. Really lovely combination of power, depth and elegance. Long with a good lime cut on the finish. Superb. ***** (1599 views)
Tasted by Ltim BE on 5/9/2020 & rated 92 points: Lovely wine. Mineral fruity creamy with a profound length. Simply great. Potential upscale for 2-3 years imho. (1708 views)
Tasted by aagrawal on 6/10/2019 & rated 91 points: Dinner with the wine group (Hillside Supper Club): Golden; aromatic with slight sulfur reduction, minerals, flinty; palate is full bodied, medium-plus acidity, decent white fruit; finish is medium length. A good white burgundy with notable mineral character from Perrieres. 91+ (2085 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 5/24/2019 & rated 94 points: Burgundy Wimps — Le Bout du Monde (La Trompette, London): Very classic. Vibrant, mineral, long. Really lovely. Very limey still on the finish. A long distance runner rather than a sprinter. Consistent with the previous bottles over past 18 months. ****1/2 (1648 views)
Tasted by Comte Flaneur on 5/24/2019 & rated 93 points: Two potential sources of trouble: vintage and producer. However any trepidation was assuaged by the pale, glinting, hue of this bright, vibrant, wine, which had a superb finish. Drink/hold. (1229 views)
Tasted by asparagus on 1/9/2019 & rated 93 points: PnPed over the course of threeish hours.

This started out with a somewhat muted nose and was very closed upon opening, monolithic even. Aggressive swirling did bring out some faint hints of lemon. An hour in, the lemon became more noticeable and a very pretty minerality note came to the fore. For some inexplicable reason, it became a bit flabby and the acid spine receded somewhat - which was slightly alarming as I have a stash of this. However, at about the two hour mark, it truly began to unfurl. Lemon, minerals, white fruits and white flowers came to the fore. There was a lovely sense of purity and delineation and the finish was long. Loved the acidic backbone. 93 points and I expect it to get better from here. (1150 views)
Tasted by Derek Darth Taster on 1/9/2019 & rated 92 points: Dinner with AG at Imperial Treasure. Pop and poured. Drank over 2+ hours.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow lemon colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, so damm tight until about 45 mins later then it started to open up to show citrus lemon-lime, wet stones minerality, tidal pool, flinty matchstick, puff of chalk. Developing.
On the palate, dry, fat medium acidity sensation that bulids up becoming better with more air, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of fat rich citrus lemon curd, ripe cream peach, apricot, then the waves of precise minerality - wet stones, chalk, flint. Slight accent of butter and almond nut oil also. Long finish.
Very good quality. Just seems to be at an awkward stage of development now. Conservative score for now. Hold this another 2-3 years. (1379 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 1/8/2019 & rated 94 points: Pale to mid straw. Nicely mineral. Quite zesty with a light florality and plenty of line and cut. Elegant. A hint of honey towards the finish. By day 2 the honey element has lifted and this remains supremely elegant. Really lovely. ****1/2 (982 views)
Tasted by asparagus on 12/11/2018 & rated 93 points: Outstanding. Good length, good acid. (886 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 1/19/2018 & rated 94 points: A day in Noizé (Noizé restaurant, London): Opened 135mins in advance of drinking. On first opening this was quite tight and mineral, but put on weight by the time of drinking. Pale straw. Lovely floral Puligny nose with a sense of mineral line. Moderately rich, but fresh and balanced, lovely line and persistent on the long finish. This is really lovely. ****1/2 (1700 views)
Tasted by coremill on 1/25/2016 & rated 90 points: A lighter, more elegant version of a Puligny 1er. Fresh, ripe citrus, some oaky vanilla, lots of macadamia and chalk, lots of acid. Not a lot of extract or weight, not a lot of structure. Not backward or shutdown, no reduction, didn't require air to open up. I'd be hesitant about aging this but it drinks nicely now. (2450 views)
Tasted by AtoZ on 1/22/2014 & rated 93 points: Really great bottle of wine. Wish I had more. Loved the elegance and power. Wine dinner. (3141 views)
Tasted by Paul S on 12/4/2013 & rated 93 points: 5 Decades of Aged Barolo with White Truffles (Absinthe, Boat Quay, Singapore): An excellent young wine, with the emphasis on "young" - this really needs a good long rest in the cellar. On first pour after a bit too long in the ice-bucket, it was all sweet and primary, not even noticeably Burgundian. It was only when the wine warmed up to a more suitable temperature and took on some air did it start fanning out into a fresh, very pretty nose of sweet green apples and melons, with citrus lime notes, some floral accents and a nice pronounced line of mineral and peppery spice. The palate had everything that I used to love from the Louis Carillon 1er Cru Perrieres bottlings. There was a lovely depth to it, with a nice amount of underlying conviction and intensity to its green pear, apple and brighter lemon flavours. However, what really marked the wine out for me was its great purity and energy, with super-fresh, lively, almost tingly acidity wed to a beautiful structure of flinty mineral. This ran through the entire wine, from attack into its long finish, lending it a serious sense of definition and focus ungirding the ripe 2010 fruit. It is all still very primary, still needing time to integrate, but there is some lovely raw material here. It is a wine that really needs to be locked at the back of the cellar and forgotten about for at least 8-10 years. 93+ (4597 views)
Tasted by Jeremy Holmes on 4/28/2013: Fine and perfumed nose of white flowers, pure white peach and mineral. Good volume in the mouth with real sappy intensity and fine minerally line. It finishes with great cut and has superb length of flavour. (3442 views)
Tasted by St Paul on 3/22/2012 & rated 95 points: A fantastic wine with pure stoney minerals and very focused brilliant yellow citrus fruit. This is a great wine with so much transparency and elegance. Very long. (3346 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 3/21/2012: DIVA Burgundy Tasting; 3/21/2012-3/22/2012 (Maison Champy - Beaune): Wine tasting. Really sensational. Apple, lemon and lemon peel with great purity and elegance. Not powerful, but great minerality and overall balance. Very exciting about this wine's potential. (4524 views)
Tasted by rnellans on 11/3/2011 & rated 92 points: Tank. Deep yellow. Bottom of slope. Rich, somewhat fat, depth..good acid on finish. 20% new oak. (1722 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
