Tasted by Seville Wines on 12/6/2017 & rated 89 points: Good moderate priced wine to go with southern Italian food. (2772 views)
Tasted by Seville Wines on 9/30/2017 & rated 90 points: Great with grilled pizza. Deep red. Rich flavor. (3065 views)
Tasted by sstein19 on 8/13/2016 & rated 80 points: Not bad for a Chianti. Nose was decent and paired well with the pasta. (4459 views)
Tasted by Ryan.Vento on 1/25/2016 & rated 82 points: Great go-to Sangiovese from a reputable producer. Really can't go wrong with this simple selection. (2586 views)
Tasted by LEEJV123 on 1/7/2016 & rated 89 points: Medium body, very smooth & round (5594 views)
Tasted by Robert Pavlovich on 11/20/2015: In a forward style, medium low acid, ripe fruit and tannin, but not too hot so it was acceptable restaurant by the glass fare, though nothing to seek out for enjoying at home. Did not see a lot of aging potential here. (4166 views)
Tasted by Winedog1 on 11/3/2015 & rated 88 points: Very dry. Leather. Earth. Cherry. (3828 views)
Tasted by SpiSan on 10/24/2015 & rated 89 points: Refreshing and a bit on the light side. (3527 views)
Tasted by Winedog1 on 10/20/2015 & rated 88 points: Cherry. The vintage is off. Improved after one day. Avoid this vintage. (2301 views)
Tasted by Invecchiato on 9/27/2015 & rated 88 points: Misty ruby color and bright. Relieving nose, cherry flavors and smooth tannins. Good alcohol and moderate acidity. Nicely balanced and amble finish. Enjoyable with pasta and good QPR. (1647 views)
Tasted by Winedog1 on 9/15/2015 & rated 86 points: Cherry. Just not very good. This vintage is off. Very dry. Heartburn from drinking. Avoid. (1589 views)
Tasted by TannicBeast on 9/13/2015 & rated 90 points: Clear, bright ruby, medium (+) in intensity with a garnet rim. The nose is clean, medium (+) in intensity and developing, with aromas of red cherry, black plum, orange zest, tilled earth and some baking spices. The palate is dry and consistent with the nose but perhaps more youthful, with tart cherry, pomegranate and cocoa. The acidity and tannins are medium (+) and the alcohol is medium at 13%. Overall, this is a well-balanced, medium-bodied wine with medium (+) flavor intensity and a medium (+), drying finish of steeped tea and dusty tannins. It sees 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels and thus needs a little time to open up. It's actually better on the second or third day. It's structure makes it more of a food wine than a cocktail wine. The noticeable yet restrained oak overlay is the main difference between this and the "regular" Chianti Classico. This Riserva is just now entering its optimal drinking window and should benefit from a couple more years of bottle aging. Considering the amount of care that goes into this production, this is a great value in the $16.00 range. (1451 views)
Tasted by Frijole on 9/13/2015: deep dark burgundy red, medium clarity, ruby hue
Nose: deep dark berries, black pepper, wet earth, vanilla, oak
Pal: deep dark berries, black pepper, wet earth, vanilla, cola, thyme, silver, some acidity, oak
Feel: medium, savory
Finish: medium

Tasted by primality on 8/14/2015 & rated 89 points: More strength and more elegance than the non-reserve, but I was hoping for something more. Nice strawberry and tea notes, but I was looking for more rusticity. (1954 views)
Tasted by JOsgood on 6/18/2015: Drank nicely. A classic Italian red table wine in style with good rustic fruit and nice acidity. Nice balance. (2101 views)
Tasted by Baron Slick on 6/16/2015 & rated 88 points: A nose full of fresh and dried cherries, plums, and a hint of leather. A bit rustic yet everything is pretty much in its proper place. Supple texture, tart acidity, black raspberry and strawberry flavors, and a black fruit finish. A safe choice for almost any type of food. (1676 views)
Tasted by Serge Birbrair on 6/10/2015: too simple, ain't worth the trouble (1802 views)
Tasted by iByron on 5/15/2015 & rated 87 points: Deep transparent ruby. Tart cherry and strong tea on the nose and palate. Medium firm tannins and medium plus acidity. Dark medium finish. Great value. (1879 views)
Tasted by Winedog1 on 4/11/2015 & rated 86 points: Again, something is not right with this vintage. (1718 views)
Tasted by Life At Your Leisure 🍷 on 4/7/2015 & rated 90 points: Tasted blind. Bright, translucent ruby with a transparent rim. The nose gives off red fruits, smoked earth and some hints of vanilla. The palate is medium-bodied with a silky texture; slightly dry but there's good fruit in the background. Flavors of cherry, cranberry, raspberry compote and lightly toasted oak. Finishes long with dusty tannins. Quite easy to drink now until 2021. I was very pleasantly surprised with this wine. It ranked last out of five, but it held its ground amongst formidable contenders: 2008 Casanova di Neri BdM (93+); 2004 Solaia (96); 2008 Allegrini Valpolicella (92); and a 2010 Palacios Remondo Propiedad (92+).  Tasted by laralh on 4/5/2015 & rated 78 points: Kirsebær, kaffe og litt sitrus. Medium minus fylde, kort. For lite frukt i forhold til syre. Enkel, noe bitter og vandlig. Det finnes et hav av bedre chiantier, også i 2011. (1428 views)
Tasted by Winedog1 on 4/5/2015 & rated 88 points: Again, not as good as usual. Maybe the vintage? Dry with saline. This has been the house wine for a while, so it is strange to taste something so different. (1498 views)
Tasted by VanVino on 4/2/2015 & rated 75 points: I have had good experiences with previous vintages, but this wine was unbalanced, possibly flawed. Completely lacking any distinguishing characteristics. Tart and acidic with nothing else. Possibly past its prime. Using the rest for drunken pasta. (1501 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 3/20/2015 & rated 88 points: Black-tinged dark red violet color; dried red berry, tart red currant, balsamic nose; silky textured, tart red berry, dried red berry, roasted berry palate with medium acidity; medium-plus finish (80% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon; 13% alcohol) (522 views)
Tasted by Winedog1 on 3/16/2015 & rated 88 points: Not as good as usual. Maybe the vintage? (1648 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
