Tasted by "Rhône Rider" on 7/20/2023 & rated 91 points: Strågul. Sitron, mineraler, gress, stikkelsbær på nese. Sitrus, stikkelsbær, mineraler, noe strå, nøtter, noe mango og gress bak. Flott laget med sylskarp leskende syre, og flott balanse. Lenge 91 (278 views)
Tasted by rossi.wine on 8/14/2022 & rated 92 points: Consistent with previous note. Drinking beautifully atm. Slowly drink up. 91-93 (966 views)
Tasted by Aravind Asok on 7/27/2022: A stunning sauv blanc (the restaurant didn't have the 16 I ordered, so kindly poured this instead). Pop and pour, with wonderful evolution, over the hour before it disappeared. On the nose: soft reductive notes, then very soft gooseberry with loads of nutty notes. Fantastic acidity and density with more gooseberry, nuts and herbs. Excellent length and paired perfectly with pesce crudo and an amartriciana of the sea. (661 views)
Tasted by MicklethePickle on 3/3/2022 & rated 93 points: Pop n' pour. Medium-yellow, darker than a younger SB for sure. Nose still fresh, with mineral, metal, melon in the nose. Grapefruit. Good acid backbone frames nice bold fruit flavors. Impressive, and very long on the finish, even with spicy food. Incredible for 7 years past the vintage. 4-13-17-9: 93/100. (915 views)

Tasted by FransS on 4/3/2021 & rated 93 points: Thrilling, an oily impression and all I have written in my previous note. (592 views)
| Tasted by FransS on 3/3/2021 & rated 93 points: The purity of this wine is its hallmark, the hint of gooseberries (which I normally deteste) is very agreable, combined with a hint of fatness, a whiff of grass and very ripe acidity, The taste is quite concentrated with white fruit, a stony impression and finally glycerine in the balanced aftertaste. | Tasted by rossi.wine on 10/9/2020 & rated 91 points: Gooseberry, grass, herbs, yellow stone fruit, cold cream on the nose. Concentrated and rich on the palate, great acidity, nice mineral streak. Good length. Drink or keep. 90-92 (1111 views) |
Tasted by galewskj on 8/18/2019: Annual Summer wine event featuring Brisket (Steve and Jennie's): For me, this is very in-your-face sauvignon blanc, with tons of grapefruit. (1087 views)
Tasted by FransS on 5/8/2019 & rated 93 points: This is terrific stuff; normally I don't like the sauvignon with its horrible gooseberries perfume, but this is a totally different league. The wine has friendly fresh white fruit, some flowers and a stony hint in the bouquet with also some fresh mown grass; the taste is juicy and firm with a very fresh and ripe acidity. The most impressive are the super bitters above this all and they stay in the mouth for at least 30 seconds. This sauvignon I really like! (885 views)
Tasted by sung251 on 3/4/2019 & rated 89 points: Just from the smell you can tell it is a Sauvignon Blanc right away. Tons of passion fruit, grape fruit zest, and hint of grass. The flavor is very explosive and ethereal. I enjoyed this wine very much but i was a bit disappointed mostly because I wanted more acid to counter balance the richness of the fruit. For a sauvignon blanc made in Alto Adige I'm surprised it didn't have searing acidity. It could just be possible that the acid level was lower than usual due to the fact that 2015 was a pretty warm vintage. (921 views)
Tasted by MicklethePickle on 8/6/2018 & rated 90 points: Opened last night. Pale gold. Pungent aromas of grapefruit. Pretty juicy grapefruit flavors with a steely edge. Great balance. Well done! 4-12-16-8: 90/100. (1361 views)
Tasted by Decanting fool on 5/11/2018: OK I'm just gonna say it: sauvignon blanc is the most under appreciated varietal in the world. Grown virtually everywhere, and with great success, it is also one of the greatest values. The Winkl is massively flavorful and full figured, yet ethereal. Intensely perfumed, herbaceous, floral, fruity, chalky and mineral rich, this bottle had the slightest suggestion of secondary fermentation, which is not my favorite quality, (will need to crack another one to see if it's just bottle variation or if it's a characteristic of the wine.) It has the goods to stand up to very flavorful food, or lovely as a summer afternoon quaff. (1512 views)

Tasted by Rollerball on 2/2/2018 & rated 93 points: Waxy at first then BAM! the room disappears and you're in place of balanced ethereal pastels and textures. Surprising, complex, and still so enjoyable. (1113 views)
Tasted by Elycohn on 1/12/2018 & rated 92 points: Straw color. Strong grapefruit aroma with accents of tangerine and a faint flinty smokey note. Medium full bodied with creamy texture and layered flavors of minerals, grapefruit, lemon, and grass. Has all the varietal flavors you'd expect but with weight, layers, and complexity and a long lingering finish. (954 views)
Tasted by Rollerball on 12/27/2017 & rated 93 points: A blossoming lemon creme with a backdrop of complexity. Light with a floral bouquet, minerality and whispy clouds. (939 views)
Tasted by BHull on 12/2/2017 & rated 93 points: Amazing grapefruit on the nose, great minerality with nice acidity, grapefruit and some tropical fruit on the palate (843 views)
Tasted by gmbdds on 8/25/2017 & rated 91 points: This was an interesting take on sauvignon blanc. Quite representative but subtly unique with its mix of citrus (lemon) and herbal notes. Lightly spicy and energetic with nice balance. (1015 views)
Tasted by MicklethePickle on 8/24/2017 & rated 89 points: Reliably good wine as always, pungent, tangy, tasty. Nose is especially nice, with great citrus fruit and almost gewürztraminer-like spice. Steely acidity in the mouth gives this excellent balance. Very tight, could use a little time to relax. 4-12-15-8: 89/100. (1051 views)
Tasted by Mr T on 7/1/2017: Sue loved this...need to find more (1154 views)
Tasted by randyjc on 6/29/2017 & rated 90 points: A bit of sweetness, white peach, lengthy finish. Quite remarkable - without the aggressive citrus component often found in sauvignon blanc. (1235 views)
