Tasted by Bebum on 7/21/2019 & rated 89 points: Clear, medium red/brown color.
Intensely aromatic.
Full body, flavorful, lean texture, soft tannins, little heat for the alcohol level, average length.
Almost tart, off dry, no bitterness.
Fruity,
Aged perfectly but doesn’t look as if it’s going to improve further. (3184 views)
Tasted by Grateful4Red on 11/14/2018 & rated 87 points: PnP. Decent but short finish. (3638 views)
Tasted by Bebum on 6/17/2018 & rated 91 points: Dark red, full body, intensely flavorful, soft tannins, silky texture, hot mouthfeel, lingering and tasty aftertaste.
Off dry, perfect balance of crispness and sweetness
Fruity, sweet spices, cinnamon, plums.
Amazingly good value. (4162 views)
Tasted by Coffee and Pie on 3/12/2018: Served by the glass.

Nose a little earthy, soy sauce, not much fruit.

Palate is a little light, not the typical Cabernet Sauvignon from California. A little of black and red fruit, cranberries.

Finish is dominated by oak.

For the price, not a bad a wine. (4597 views)
Tasted by mrooney on 2/25/2018 & rated 75 points: nose: light fruit; palette: full fruit with a little oak behind it all the way to the finish (4531 views)
Tasted by Hadjisa on 10/27/2017 & rated 97 points: REALLY GOOD!! (690 views)
Tasted by Sstone18 on 9/12/2017 & rated 84 points: Definitely not as powerful as most cabernets. Almost feels like a Pinot Noir. Somewhat bland nose. Good flavor, some vanilla tones and a smooth finish. Not a too bad given the price. (3145 views)
Tasted by meniscus on 9/8/2017 & rated 86 points: Not a complex wine but a good value at under $10. It's fruity and somewhat simple but well balanced. I like that it finishes dry, not cloying like many cabs at this price point. For this reason, it's not at all tiring to drink. A good wine for everyday or to serve at a large party if you don't want to break the bank. (2667 views)
Tasted by Fakewiig on 8/19/2017 & rated 88 points: Red fruit. Acid up front.
Vanilla, oak, pepper end.
Silky tannin.

Very tasty for the value. (2372 views)
Tasted by Andy3155 on 7/2/2017 & rated 85 points: Dry. Pepper taste. Smooth finish. (2084 views)
Tasted by smcilhen on 6/10/2017 & rated 83 points: Quarterly Blind Tasting - Bring Anything (My Place): Seventh wine of blind, "bring anything" tasting. I guessed $25 2012 Pinot made in the Meomi/Belle Glos style, as did everyone else. Not a good sign for your cabernet when everyone guesses Pinot. Strawberry jam for days with vanilla cream on top. Smooth but also no real body to the wine. This was a ringer bottle so I'd have to revoke my wino card if I failed to call out this basic, made for mass consumption wine.

If you want a cheap Cabernet, buy Columbia Crest not Mondavi.

My 83 points, group 86. #7 of 7 wines on the night (2519 views)
Tasted by Mike Kopanski on 6/1/2017 & rated 87 points: They basically got this right. Previous vintages had an industrial cleaner aroma and flavor. Nice balanced upfront fruit. Charcoal from medium heavy toast oak. Correct tannins. Deep purple color. Solid graphite enhanced mid palate. Lively, fresh finish with more oak tannins and blue fruit. More concentrated than previous vintages. (1112 views)
Tasted by tmccracken on 4/1/2017 & rated 88 points: Smooth. Nice wine with apps before dinner. Not too heavy. (1122 views)
Tasted by FLXHoneymoon on 1/11/2017: Balance is off, tannins are rough, full bodied, heavily manipulated. About what one would expect from an eight dollar Cab. (1230 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
