Tasted by jvphoto on 8/27/2023 & rated 95 points: Big boy, silky, oozy black fruit (383 views)
Tasted by gsiokis on 10/24/2020 & rated 95 points: Consistent with previous note from last year but would add it seemed better integrated than last year:

Previous note: "WOTN; Really an incredible rendition of CA Syrah. We drank alongside two Cab's - Carter TK and Bevan Tench. High ABV but was really well integrated, big blue fruits with a looooong finish. This should last at least another 10+ years." (1118 views)
Tasted by rpenn77 on 4/2/2020 & rated 93 points: Rich dark Syrah with a great finish (1208 views)
Tasted by bonedocnine on 12/1/2019 & rated 99 points: Stunner! (1209 views)

Tasted by rpenn77 on 9/20/2019 & rated 94 points: Rich dark fruit with a long finish. (959 views)
Tasted by RockyII on 12/24/2018 & rated 94 points: Popped and poured thru a powered aerator. Color is deep opaque eggplant purple with floating sedimentation. Sweet nose of chrysanthemums, oak, blackberries, anise and bourbon soaked honey covered puff pastry. Taste is similar with some ash and cigar on the mid palate and bourbon on the finish. Ultra smooth mouthfeel. Medium to low well integrated tannins and acidity. Full bodied. I’m becoming a really big fan of Alban wines. About 94 points. (687 views)
Tasted by Jdwinedrinker on 1/17/2018: Opened and decanted for about 30 minutes. Drinking surprisingly well. Nice rich spicy fruit. (843 views)

Syrah

Varietal article (Wikipedia) | (Wines Northwest)

Note that some producers in the Northern Rhone distinguish between simply Syrah and "Serine", the latter described as ‘an ancient clone of Syrah, the berries of which are more oval-shaped and less deeply pigmented than Syrah’ by producer Tardieu-Laurent.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
