Tasted by RedderTheBetter on 11/29/2019 & rated 88 points: Tart cherry. (1300 views)
Tasted by Vindicator on 4/24/2019: Really nice classic Chiantii. Great value. In a great spot now. (1648 views)
Tasted by randyjc on 11/20/2018 & rated 91 points: Excellent - focus and purity. Prominent minerality, moderate tannins. Bright tart cherry flavor predominates. This wine is drinking beautifully right now. (2050 views)
Tasted by jayw on 9/16/2018: Still young. Overly acidic upon opening, but comes into balance after a couple of hours. Pomegranate, cherry, leather, minerally earth, and garrigue. Enticing nose, satisfying finish. Good QPR at $16. (1883 views)
Tasted by j.a.price.trucking on 5/15/2018 & rated 89 points: Very nice. Would buy again. Inky and deep and good structure. (2269 views)
Tasted by Kirk Grant on 11/12/2016: Consumed from MAGNUM purchased at the winery while staying in San Gimignano. This is lovely, the nose is clean yet offers rustic notes of leather, earth, and red fruits. On the palate Pomegranate dominates leading into tart cranberry, dried meats, and other red fruits. I wish i could have gotten this home. It's really lovely now...but from Magnum I believe it will be at it's best in another 2-4 years. Excellent!! (2796 views)
Tasted by bretrooks on 8/14/2016: Not decanted, consumed over ~1 1/2 hours with dinner. Based on the difference between this and our last bottle, this has fleshed out dramatically in the last two years. This is now showing dense but lively concentrated cherry notes and a bit of underbrush or leather, all with plenty of acid and structure. This isn't striking me as elegant right at the moment, but the balance is certainly there for years of future development. Quite good, especially so considering the price. (2518 views)
Tasted by Tim Heaton on 1/24/2016: Not very pleasant as a PnP, this needed all of 90 minutes aeration in decanter to blow off some unpleasant reduction. Afterwards, quite pretty; a real Jekyll & Hyde, as before. Medium-bodied, feminine in style, with plenty of fresh acids to balance out the leathery, cherry-driven fruit. Really good food wine. Drink now, with air, or thru 2021. recommended

Served non-blind.

Tasted by tmoritz1 on 1/7/2016 & rated 90 points: Very good everyday Chianti. Good balance of acidity and tartness. Nice smooth taste with medium finish and pleasant medium garnet color (2961 views)
Tasted by thebonnydooner on 12/16/2015 & rated 89 points: Again, a very serviceable bottle of Chianti - this time with sausage simmered in left over osso buco vegetables and broth (a nice combo!). Vibrant acidity did a nice job with the rich broth and the juicy fruit complemented the sausages. A little rough around the edges but good balance overall. (2648 views)
Tasted by thebonnydooner on 9/29/2015 & rated 89 points: for the tariff this was a good serviceable bottle of Chianti - nice bitter cherry fruit, lots of acidity and nicely resolved tannins. Not hugely complex, but not dull either, the vibrant acidity was the highlight of this wine. Nice stuff. (2098 views)
Tasted by Jmwalt1 on 8/24/2015 & rated 90 points: Drinking very well right now. Especially with Lasagna! (2013 views)
Tasted by Jmwalt1 on 8/4/2015 & rated 89 points: Good balance. Fruit forward. Cherries. Smooth tannins. Finishes with a hint of Dr. Pepper. Great with pasta. (1544 views)
Tasted by alohaboys on 6/23/2015 & rated 90 points: A lovely food friendly wine. Nice on its own but rocked served with a meatball pasta with kale and olives. (1672 views)
Tasted by SexyEpicurean on 6/5/2015 & rated 88 points: I purchased both the 2010 and 2012 vintages from Rimmerman. I tried this one first as it was older, but it is actually not ready to drink yet. The 2012 is much more approachable now. I will withhold judgment on the 2010 and give it a couple of more years in the cellar. It seems to hold potential, but it is definitely young and not yet integrated. (1738 views)
Tasted by dfeiner on 5/27/2015 & rated 89 points: Deep color. Spicy cherry nose with an herbal component. Moderate mouthfeel, more cherries and herbs in the mouth with a well balanced amount of bitterness and acidity. This is a very nice, well priced bottle of Chianti. (1517 views)
Tasted by Tim Heaton on 3/24/2015: While I find the wine to be approachable now, I can't say I find it too interesting. A serviceable table wine that showed much better (fuller, more aromatic complexity) on night #2. In addition, I've opened 3 bottles in the past week and have noticed a fair degree of bottle variation. Very traditional in style and composition, but not austere or bitter in any way; very much in the red-fruited vein. Notwithstanding all of that, I recommend letting these rest for a few more years. 13,5% abv., recommeded

Tasted by bretrooks on 6/3/2014: Not decanted, sipped over the course of an evening with friends. Quick impression: mild iron & bright cherry notes with a touch of soil/herbs on the nose. This has lovely balance but was pretty closed up and only showed a little bit more character even after 2-3 hours of air. Promising, but not ready. (2444 views)
Tasted by yofog on 2/25/2014 & rated 89 points: Classically style, very tight, cherry and tar and a good base of soil, really tangy acids at the mid-palate. This needs a long time to open up at all but it's very well-composed. (3123 views)
Tasted by kdsipe on 1/6/2014 & rated 89 points: Good stuff. Bright red cherry fruit, herbs and a touch of tar. Great acid, fine tannin, good balance, moderately persistent. Classic Chianti. Took on weight over two hours. (3047 views)
Tasted by Jurgens on 8/26/2013 & rated 88 points: Nice (2951 views)
Tasted by KeithAkers on 3/14/2013 & rated 88 points: Chianti Classico tasting- the black rooster crows at the dawn of a new age (Allerton Hotel, Chicago IL): Nose: Nice and forward nose with tones of berries, cherries, spice tones, and some herbs.

Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity and silky tannins. The tones of berries, cherries, and herbs are well balance with solid depth.

Overall: This is a very good Chianti Classico. This is decent depth with a more forward and upfront style. (3393 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
