Tasted by TXRhoneRanger on 7/30/2019 & rated 96 points: Have had my eye on this bottle since I bought it. Aged patiently in the cellar since release. Atlantic salmon in color. Clear with a watery rim. Gorgeous aromas of bruised strawberries, raspberry cream, and a touch of anise. Beautiful to drink now. It was hard to put this down. Had with creamy cave aged goat cheese. Divine. Now I have to purchase some for medium term aging. Thanks Tempier! (1242 views)
Tasted by NickA on 7/16/2019 & rated 90 points: Mark's Rose Offline - part deux (Passione Vino): Really nicely evolved and a good advert for cellaring this wine. Mature and savoury, bitter and rounded AND soft and creamy! Lovely accompaniment to the cheeseboard. (1525 views)
Tasted by DAN BAILEY on 7/16/2019: Classy provencale rose. Plenty of skins on the nose and palate but well done. Nice. (1381 views)
Tasted by nzinkgraf on 3/11/2019: Savory, graham and strawberry aromas. Some lead pencil to the palate. Loads of freshness on the palate for 10 years out, although not the wine it used to be. Could be the end of the road, but it also wasn’t super dis-similar from the 2008 Tondonia Reserva Rose I had a little white back. May have more time, but I’d drink up. (1294 views)
Tasted by Moby Vino on 4/27/2016 & rated 92 points: Pale amber-gold in the glass. The joyous summer fruit of the wine when it was young has been streamlined into something much more refined, almost silken. An earlier reviewer of the aging version of Domaine Tempier Rose called it a thoughtful wine, and it truly is. I'm glad I saved several bottles to drink experimentally past its recommended prime. This is like no other rose I've ever had. (7039 views)
| Tasted by Jahull03 on 4/17/2015: good / interesting - but no question it's a different wine now than 3-4 years ago. of all the rose out there, tempier is one producer that has the complexity year-end and year-out to be interesting with some age on it... but it's not the hot-day refresher that reminds you of the Mediterranean coast while quenching your thirst on a warm afternoon.
I still like it a lot - but it's a thinking wine, not a slurping wine, and my wife doesn't care for it once the freshness is gone. (7321 views) |
Tasted by nzinkgraf on 3/14/2015: watermelon, white flower and mineral palate. no signs of sliding anywhere, but into my belly. drink to 2021. (7329 views)
Tasted by Moby Vino on 8/4/2014 & rated 93 points: The rich salmon sunset color of this wine when I first drank it four years ago has been honed to a fine crystalline shot through with the palest peach. I loved the young wine; I also love this elder glass, which tasted of cold steely stone, sun-warmed fruit crushed down and refined to a silky sorbet. (8603 views)
Tasted by mhudes on 6/9/2014 & rated 88 points: Had with picnic lunch today at Cal Shakes in Orinda. Still crisp, some mineraity, pleasant nose, still tasty but perhaps losing a bit of acidity. (8468 views)
| Tasted by pigdaddy on 5/27/2014 & rated 89 points: medium copper color; muddled red berries, game, herbs, red minerals nose; med weight; concentrated watermelon, pressed strawberry tincture, earthy, quite mineral (copper penny a color-inspired characteristic?), very dry & long. penultimate bottle, will drink last remaining one this season, satisfying but not quite as dynamic as previous bottle.
grilled yogurt-marinated chicken thighs; buttered & chived new red potatoes; grilled local escarole w/grapefruit, shaved fennel & red onion, confit tomato ranch dressing (3578 views) |
Tasted by Neurowine1 on 4/15/2014 & rated 91 points: Hard to complain about a warm day out at the Ojai valley inn with tempier rose in an ice bucket. This is the last of a six pack I have thoroughly enjoyed over the last 3 years. This wine has lost nothing in freshness (although has not improved) and remains a yardstick to measure all roses against. Ready for another ½ case. (2558 views)
Tasted by DianeR on 7/4/2013 & rated 94 points: this wine goes with anything, and is drinking beautifully now. It has more depth than most rosés, and is well-integrated. Light, delicious, wonderful. (4471 views)
Tasted by Colima74 on 6/6/2013 & rated 90 points: Not sure if this is beginning to fade or simply not as good as expect. Color is the expected salmon, but the palate lacks some acidity to brighten the fruit. It's not a bad wine, just not what I have come to expect. (3616 views)
Tasted by Neurowine1 on 5/27/2013 & rated 91 points: Been a year since I have checked in with this. Still singing! A picnic In the middle of a vineyard under perfect sunshine with salumi and local cheeses. Hard to imagine a better wine for that setting. This remains a high water mark. (3229 views)
Tasted by Buick455 on 5/19/2013 & rated 92 points: This was just nice. Pale salmon, apricote color. Palate was melon, strawberries and a hint of apricote. Not as fresh as earlier. The age showes. Good finish. (3201 views)
Tasted by Mrbuzz on 5/15/2013 & rated 93 points: Copper peach color.....little more of a "reefer funk" in this one, which I kind of dig! Has the classic melon ball fruit salad....as well as raspberries and strawberries thrown in......crisp grapefruit/orange citrus acidity, fresh herbs, some strawberry vodka....and that funk...which I think is some minerality(petrol?). Has a refreshing feel, and more than enough complexity to contemplate....not as "pretty" as past vintages...but I like a little roughness in her sometimes! Nice stuff...as always! (3353 views)
Tasted by drwine2001 on 5/3/2013: Magnum. Salmon colored. Rich, stately mixture of macerated red fruit and a touch of rind. Marvelous, complete feel with glycerine richness but no sweetness whatsoever. Incredible length and the previously noted tannin has largely resolved. We were all astounded by how beautifully this showed. It stole the show tonight. (1830 views)

Tasted by Bluespolo on 10/13/2012 & rated 90 points: Beautiful brillant lively colour. Charming pleasant fruity nose strawberry, watermelon, mellon... Perfect acidity at the palate. A very versatile wine that revealed to be a good match for some very different dishes. Close to my idea of what a rosé should be. (3058 views)

Tasted by godx on 8/25/2012 & rated 90 points: BBQ at Matt and Francesca’s (Vancouver, BC): No formal notes. Earthy nose with strawberry and pink grapefruit notes. Light body but with decent flavor intensity. Nice length with solid acidity. A really nice rose that’s drinking very well. Excellent. (3478 views)
