Tasted by Winestache on 12/28/2012 & rated 91 points: Wow. Big and bold with distinct notes of cherries. Smooth front to back. Smokey nose, but soft and mellow. Long finish. (1014 views)
Tasted by pakabear on 2/28/2008 & rated 90 points: Still is a massive wine, much better then last time with some great secondary flavors, but still a bit too simplistic. I will wait another year or two before trying again. (1465 views)
Tasted by pakabear on 10/10/2006 & rated 86 points: Massive Casis Liqour on the nose, with hints of cinammon and spice. The attack is similar, right now a bit to one dimensional. I would give this a few years to see if the massive cherry fruit subsides. (1815 views) |

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-PetersonNapa ValleyNapa Valley Wineries and Wine (Napa Valley Vintners)Napa ValleySt. Helena |
