Tasted by 559Cheers on 2/21/2021 & rated 88 points: Not bad, third night and still young. Nice drink. Can age many more years if kept proper. (647 views)
Tasted by Alok Kapoor on 6/2/2019 & rated 92 points: Surprised by some of the earlier reviews. Maybe it needed to age further. I found it excellent with a long finish. Fills the mouth. Chewy. Plenty of fruit. (893 views)
Tasted by ejmwine on 9/13/2017 & rated 90 points: Started out very nice. Deteriorated after a couple of hours. (1220 views)
Tasted by WineGuyFL on 7/30/2016 & rated 92 points: A clear notch above prior bottles. Unfortunately, my last bottle. Great value. (1329 views)
Tasted by ogres3 on 6/2/2016 & rated 88 points: Meh. Nothing special. A bit light for a CA cab. Much more red than blue fruit. Minimal finish if any. (1852 views)
Tasted by bcc725 on 12/12/2015: Unimpressive. Bulk juice. (1571 views)
Tasted by WineGuyFL on 11/1/2014 & rated 90 points: Not as good as previous bottles. Tiring? Drink up. (1110 views)
Tasted by logreeval on 2/8/2013 & rated 91 points: Delicious. The nose was beautiful, lots of dark fruit and some chocolate. On the palate there were nice tannins, some spice and a little acidity. Very full bodied. Had a nice medium to long finish. Overall very good. (1539 views)
Tasted by johnnyo on 8/7/2011 & rated 89 points: Very nice, well balanced with medium long finish. (3700 views)
Tasted by Backdoctor on 6/5/2011 & rated 88 points: the first night this was a bit tight, tannic. The next night it was much more enjoyable. (3872 views)
Tasted by conga523 on 5/5/2011 & rated 91 points: Great wine. Drinks like a much more expensive wine. Very silky. Tannins are not noticeable at all. Smooth clean finish with just a hint of oak. Small amount of spice starts to poke through once it starts to air out. (2396 views)
Tasted by Black Pearl on 11/3/2010 & rated 93 points: Tremendous wine for $25. A medium-weight Napa cab that has a great nose, is well balanced, smooth, with a great finish. Great aromatics and nuanced flavors. I immediately ordered a case after drinking a bottle that came as part of Bounty Hunter monthly shipment. (2650 views)
Tasted by absolutvodka on 10/22/2010 & rated 92 points: Very nice. Reminiscent of Plumpjack but for less money. Outstanding Qpr (2459 views)

Tasted by Steve Jones on 11/13/2009 & rated 87 points: Artale Wine Company Benefit (Spring Creek Road): Another nice cab. All the cabs tonight were fun to drink. This was a bit lighter but had good flavors and enough body to it. VERY young. (5353 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
