Tasted by 41hijinx on 8/23/2021 & rated 88 points: Mid neck fill. Medium black and garnet color in glass with slightly fading rims. Bouquet of intense black chocolate fruit. Moderate tannins and acidity on palate. Robust and broad shouldered on palate. Just starting to oxidize. Splotches of fine sediment coat inside of bottle. Just past prime but still very nice. (719 views)
Tasted by sortcode on 11/14/2020 & rated 91 points: 14.11.2020:++ Grüne vegetative Noten, leichte Kräuter, schön eingebunden, rund, jetzt genau richtig, tolle Sauerkirsch, Piment

(915 views)
Tasted by Alro on 8/31/2019 & rated 92 points: well stored all these years proved to be just what the Dr. ordered. Just WOW, what a beautiful wine. Still plenty of fruit, soften tanic undertones, but could still go another few years. great drinker! (1169 views)
Tasted by ebpayne on 5/29/2019 & rated 90 points: Shockingly good. Huge black currant nose and palate, black pepper, blackberries. This was far from falling apart. (1319 views)
Tasted by pgm on 11/23/2017 & rated 91 points: Mocha, leather, and lots of blueberry. Excellent, surprisingly young. (2263 views)
Tasted by sbfern on 11/27/2016 & rated 85 points: I believe this bottle past it's prime. Fruit flavors are almost nonexistent lots of chocolate and chalk and Oak (2576 views)
Tasted by bjschmitt on 8/12/2016 & rated 89 points: With home-made sausage/mushroom pizza.
Medium crimson. Bottle is showing sediment on the side of the bottle. Less color density than previous bottle from a year ago.
Clean cherry nose.
A lush wine, some acid, medium body.
Probably just a bit past its prime, but we still liked this wine. (2422 views)
Tasted by jrlamia on 3/15/2016 & rated 89 points: While still a wonderful wine, this bottle has past its peak. The flavors and aromas are softening. Should drink soon. (2746 views)
Tasted by Jscalia on 5/29/2015 & rated 90 points: this was an absolutely beautiful wine. Lush flavours, intense fruit, great structure. (3255 views)
Tasted by casjf on 4/18/2015 & rated 84 points: Extremely acidic upon opening. Did not expect to have to decant such a young wine. Aeration helped. Still, we were underwhelmed by this bottle. Served with BBQ chicken, fresh corn on the cob, salad. (2588 views)
Tasted by bjschmitt on 3/28/2015 & rated 90 points: With grilled strip steak, Vinegar/salt potatoes, broccolini.
Crimson, almost opaque.
Nice nose, cherry. Very nice nose, enticing.
Dry, medium-body with good acid balance, cherry and spice (all-spice or cinnamon?) - a bright, happy wine with some substance. (1984 views)
Tasted by ogres3 on 3/23/2015 & rated 91 points: Surprised how much I liked this. Very zin like. Full-bodied, lots of fruit, a bit of an edge. the '10 Carignane is amazingly fruity in a good way, although I'm far from an expert on that varietal. (1858 views)
Tasted by Erosenthal on 11/20/2014: Mistake (1968 views)
Tasted by storysworld on 4/20/2014 & rated 90 points: A very nice bottle that you don't have to overthink. Not terribly complex but really juicy and tasty fruit. A little spice there too. Nice medium finish, very enjoyable. No need to let this sit around. Drink up in the next couple years. (2112 views)
Tasted by jrlamia on 12/25/2013 & rated 90 points: Blackberry, spice, shortbread on the nose. Rich, vibrant, smooth mouthfeel. (2312 views)
Tasted by missionpk on 4/17/2013 & rated 91 points: A really cool combination of Southern France style Carignan and the Ridge magic that just works. I've tasted the '08, the '09, and this vintage, though this is the first bottle I've actually opened, and I think '10 might be the best (and the best to drink early/young). Acidity/tannins are already quite balanced and, while I'd never bet against a Ridge wine aging well, these are definitely enjoyable now. (3204 views)
Tasted by TheWineScribe on 11/12/2012 & rated 91 points: Amazing milk chocolate in the nose. Amazing structure. Core of fruit, she'll of acid. LOVE this wine!! (3919 views)
Tasted by Eric Guido on 11/7/2012 & rated 89 points: The Rhone Rangers (City Winery, 155 Varick Street, New York, NY 10013): The nose was vibrant, showing ripe berries and spice with a whiff of wild herbs. On the palate, it was rich and juicy with blackberry fruits and hints of spiced orange. The finish was long with palate-coating blackberry fruit. (3869 views)
Tasted by sully13 on 11/5/2012 & rated 89 points: Dark cherries on the nose. Plum on the palate. Soft structure, just fruit on the finish. Interesting to me, as I do not drink much carignane. (2660 views)
Tasted by sirwine on 10/27/2012 & rated 93 points: This is a beautiful wine. Love drinking their wines from the Advanced Tasting Program - always unique, small production wines. beautiful old vine carignane tasted so delicious. Wanted more. (2291 views)
Tasted by Colima74 on 7/1/2012 & rated 93 points: Beautiful aromas of blueberries and violets. Flavors on the palate mimic the nose. I don't drink much Carignane, but this is very tasty. I think I will dink my other bottle within a year, as this tastes great young. (2134 views)
Tasted by kosinski on 6/1/2012: Rich, almost opaque ruby color. Interesting nose of violets and warm wood. Violets carry through to the palate along with black berries, spice and perhaps a touch of minerals. Some acid appears toward the end. Tannins are present, adding structure, but not obtrusive. Needs some time to integrate and mature. (1812 views)
Tasted by Martin Redmond on 3/25/2012 & rated 90 points: 2012 Rhone Rangers Grand Tasting (San Francisco, Fort Mason Festival Pavillion): Black cherry, raspberry and slight floral smoky aromas. Full-bodied, robust, round with well integrated tannins and black cherry, raspberry, and vanilla flavors. (2886 views)
Tasted by affordableCollector on 3/25/2012 & rated 91 points: ruby, in color. berry, blackberry, cherry, spice, herbs, vanilla, on the nose. light acid, light tannins, on this enjoyable finish. (1137 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.
