Tasted by Sid_Mac on 7/25/2013 & rated 85 points: Initially had a lot of pepper, but mellowed after time into an enjoyable wine. Good value. did not decant. (944 views)
Tasted by Jrote on 6/1/2013 & rated 84 points: A Big Top special. Better than average kangaroo wine, and a bargain at $4 clearance. A wine to drink when you don't want to open the better stuff in your cellar, but you just want a glass of wine. (1586 views)
Tasted by Mike Kopanski on 8/17/2012 & rated 85 points: Another deep, full flavored, Aussie value priced Shiraz blend that tastes a bit manipulated, but basically delivers. Pretty close to full bodied. Deep dark color. By no means a fruit bomb. Actually a little short in the fruit department. Mushrooms, alcohol, blackberry on the nose. The fruit is overpowered by an artificial acidity, but still has some merit. Plenty of acid. Moderate tannins. Some slight green pepper influence. Not much influence from oak. Swirling, and some time in the glass bring things to life. The finish is too much acid from 50# bags. But. we finished the bottle. (1859 views)

Cabernet-Shiraz Blend

A very popular blend in Australia-particularly from South Australia, where the two varietals work well together. The most famous of these would be the Penfolds Bin 389, considered Australia's most cellared wine. In years gone by this was referred to as "Baby Grange" as some of the wine used barrels from the vintage of Grange.

The 2018 Paternus states only McLaren Vale Shiraz (no Cab Sav).
