Tasted by hcnate on 9/29/2019 & rated 88 points: Still jam time! Almost too hot even now. Good buy at the time, make sure you have big flavors to offset this! (624 views)
Tasted by ChipGreen on 6/8/2017 & rated 89 points: A little surprised at how well this is holding up - still jammy with a touch of sweetness and a kick of brambly spice that carries from the mid-palate through the finish. (1514 views)
Tasted by Mavery76276 on 9/30/2016 & rated 89 points: Nice though not as much of a fruit bomb as a few years ago. (1312 views)
Tasted by merryberry on 9/29/2016 & rated 90 points: Just a touch of brown showing through the ruby during the pour. Sticky strawberry jam, cedar, and spice nose. Medium bodied, dark chocolate cherries, pepper, cloves, grainy tannins, and a sweet medium length finish. Seems to be reducing over time, but still quite good. (1266 views)
Tasted by foobarski on 12/27/2015 & rated 88 points: Last bottle. Probably would have been good for at least a couple more months, but oh well ... ;-)
Still getting that apple note I referred to a while back. And to the very end it's done a fine job of hiding its heat. (1681 views)
Tasted by foobarski on 12/2/2015 & rated 88 points: Consistent with my previous reviews. (1336 views)
Tasted by foobarski on 9/6/2015 & rated 88 points: Picking up an interesting middle note of apples (McIntosh? Jonathan?) Still very enjoyable, still hiding the alcohol well. (1056 views)
Tasted by merryberry on 5/12/2015 & rated 89 points: Still lots of fruit, with more spice coming to the fore. A little syrupy on the finish. Best one yet and disappeared quickly. (1044 views)
Tasted by foobarski on 1/17/2015 & rated 88 points: Still cruising along, still very drinkable, still very fruity. (And it's still well-disguised that this is kind of an alco-bomb wine ... 15.6%!) (1255 views)
Tasted by hcnate on 11/23/2014 & rated 87 points: Jammy, boozy and rich. Put some robust smoked meat in front of it and you have a winner. (1119 views)
Tasted by ChipGreen on 11/23/2014 & rated 88 points: Still holding up well, benefits from some air. May be at or near its peak. Less spicy now, still fruit forward with raspberry leading the way.
Additional creme de cassis notes filling in for some of the spice. Mild tannins on the medium finish. Starting to throw some sediment. (1304 views)
Tasted by merryberry on 6/26/2014 & rated 88 points: Deep, slightly cloudy ruby. Oak, warm spice, and cherry cola nose. Medium to full bodied, candied cherries, pepper, light woody tannins, smoke, and medium length somewhat syrupy finish. More integrated and better than last year; seems to have entered its prime drinking window. (1397 views)
Tasted by bob_jones on 6/8/2014 & rated 79 points: Held off for a while on these and they're not bad for a fruity red (I don't taste much of the alcohol either unlike earlier reviews), but they have a bad qpr even at $13, I'd peg them at something you'd find around $8. (1202 views)
Tasted by TottenCellars on 4/3/2014: This wine has settled down quite a bit from last year, alc. is more integrated and the fruit has calmed down. More enjoyable yes but still not a great wine . Pass on future offers of this at $15. (1331 views)
Tasted by ChipGreen on 12/14/2013 & rated 87 points: The alcohol seems to be better integrated than my last bottle or else I am just noticing it less. Still quite fruity (mostly raspberry) with some perceived sweetness, jamminess, spicy bramble and creamy cassis.
Tannins have smoothed out some and are less grippy now. It's drinking well and I think it should hold up for at least a couple more years. (1449 views)
Tasted by ChipGreen on 7/20/2013 & rated 87 points: In your face heat, fruit and spice. Big jammy zin with grippy tannins. (1968 views)
Tasted by dimfeld on 7/4/2013 & rated 86 points: As the other reviews said, drink this soon, as it's at or near its peak right now. I had my first bottle last year, which needed the Vinturi to mellow the overwhelming alcohol taste, and I wasn't too impressed. Now, there's no subtlety, little complexity, but it truly lives up to the name "Fruit Bomber." With this bottle the harshness faded after being open for 15-30 minutes, leaving just a bit of heat on the finish, which makes for a quite pleasant drink if you like the fruit-forward style. It doesn't have the interesting flavors of my favorite Zinfandels and won't win any awards, but I enjoyed it nevertheless and look forward to the remaining two bottles. (1778 views)
Tasted by Wicked Panda on 6/8/2013 & rated 85 points: Drink NOW. It's not going to get better. Not enough structure for aging, but that's not what it's meant for. Big bold fruit, a high alcohol contributing to the sweetness. Fig and date, maybe some stewed stone fruits. A hint of acidity at the end. Does go with a sweet molasses style BBQ. But not with something spicy. Toward the end of the bottle an acidity started to show on the finish that was a little unpleasant. (1583 views)
Tasted by hcnate on 5/31/2013 & rated 87 points: Jammy and fruity. Drink now for the zip. (1504 views)
Tasted by Corrado on 4/7/2013: This is the first Woot Wine I've had that I absolutely HATE. It's a perfect wine for a Sangria or something that would benefit from the perceptible sweet flavor and finish of the wine. I have 3 bottles left and my first thought is to make a "wine cooler" with a 50/50 mix of seltzer and Pour Pour Me. #DoNotLike (2350 views)
Tasted by North316 on 3/31/2013 & rated 86 points: My first tasting notes in November were as follows: "Not really sure what to make of this wine. It is exactly what it is supposed to be. A fruit bomb with some sugar and lot of alcohol. Two years ago I would have absolutely loved this wine, but I find myself wanting more. A little acidity and a little less heat. Still a decent wine, but I would not buy it again for the price (which I thought was high to begin with for a woot cellars)."

I would say it still fairly consistent, though I think the alcohol has mellowed a bit. Definitely still a fruity blast lacking in any significant acid backbone. I did enjoy it a little more than the first time around, but still agrue that the QPR is nothing to brag about at the price point. In the $10-12 range this would be an awesome evening sipper.  Tasted by xtype on 3/20/2013 & rated 84 points: Very jammy. This stuff needs time for the flavours to meld (let's hope). I'm gonna forget about the other bottles for a couple of years. (1128 views)
Tasted by grdnbrrtt on 3/16/2013: Not for pot & pour. Needs a day to decant perhaps? (1087 views)
Tasted by earuesch on 2/4/2013 & rated 70 points: I'm pretty sure this is what they use for communion wine at church. Yuck. I poured out the second half of my glass...I don't think I've ever done that before. (1365 views)
Tasted by foobarski on 1/7/2013 & rated 88 points: A slightly sour nose, but lots of sweet candied fruit on the palate. (1385 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
