Tasted by TheForces on 1/12/2017: Done. (3438 views)
Tasted by kmharri on 8/11/2013 & rated 83 points: - Garnet color with fast forming legs and aromas of prune. It's high in alcohol with a light/medium body. Smooth texture with a short finish. (5255 views)
Tasted by libero on 4/16/2013 & rated 90 points: This 10 years old private selection did exceed my expectation. Flavored of dry prunes and figs. A vivid dark red color
Can be drunk now or wait for another 3 to 5 years. Finish is still tannic. (5398 views)
Tasted by jes0811 on 12/6/2012 & rated 81 points: Garnet color. Fast. Fading fruit, light toast, medium oak with fairly pronounced tannins. Medium body and medium finish. Neutral. Was probably better a couple of years ago. (5369 views)
Tasted by mkbabs on 11/23/2008 & rated 81 points: Nose better than palate. One dimensional with raisin overpowering other fruits. Weak tannins. Drink now (11-08), this is not going to get any better. About what you would expect from a $10 wine. No great value, but drinkable. (6690 views)
Tasted by cab blends on 5/17/2008 & rated 87 points: Dinner with VA, Bic, Ian, Darias, Kim - Blind Tasting with full MOT scoring (Home): Dark red with moderate tannin (4683 views)
Tasted by ZR1001 on 3/21/2008 & rated 84 points: Good PQR. (3034 views)
Tasted by ZR1001 on 12/4/2007 & rated 85 points: Very nice bottle of wine. (3049 views)
Tasted by ChrisBman on 1/1/2007 & rated 82 points: Drank the bottle with some friends over the holidays. Really took forever for the wine to even open up a little to have a little flavor with it. Pretty tart. Really unimpressed. Ok, cheap, drinkable wine but there are better ones out there in this price range. (3294 views)
Tasted by krhule on 10/1/2006 & rated 73 points: Harsh wine. My "alcoholic" friend who knows nothing about wine and will drink anything complained about this one. Rarely does wine go down the drain at our home, and this is one of the exceptions. Very tart, I couldn't imagine that cellar time, or decanting could do anything to this wine. (3785 views)
Tasted by krhule on 9/30/2006 & rated 73 points: Harsh wine. My "alcoholic" friend who knows nothing about wine and will drink anything complained about this one. Rarely does wine go down the drain at our home, and this is one of the exceptions. Very tart, I couldn't imagine that cellar time, or decanting could do anything to this wine. (3714 views)
Tasted by shoot2score67 on 9/14/2006 & rated 83 points: Tart. Might need aging. Or perhaps just poorly done. Feels unrefined. Harsh finish. Surprising to me since I usually find most Mondavi's ok. For the price there are many better choices out there. Skip this one. 83. (3385 views)
Tasted by Longsight M13 on 5/18/2006: Dark. Fairly flat nose. Some interesting flavors, but nothing to rave about. Nobody's gonna hate it, but nobody'll love it either. (3969 views)
Tasted by kpgroves on 4/8/2006 & rated 82 points: This wine is barely hanging together. A little chintzy with the usual fruit and hints of cassis.
Medium to thin concentration and body. Short, mildly tannic finish ending with an off sour note.
Probably needs a little time for the back end to smooth out, but by then any other of the few redeeming qualities will have faded.
Boring wine, but I knew what I was getting into. For $12 take a risk with something else. (4030 views)
Tasted by mstrickland on 3/8/2006 & rated 73 points: Crappier than Charles Shaw, a terrible wine for $11 (2433 views)
Tasted by dustinjamison on 2/28/2006 & rated 73 points: Unimpressed. Way too tart. (4296 views)
Tasted by Crystal on 2/28/2006 & rated 90 points: mild, mellow, slight wood and mushroomy. very enjoyable, rounded. drank over several days. (4373 views)
Tasted by Espanamour on 12/23/2005 & rated 81 points: Less than sterling experience. Too tart (perhaps too young) but with less flavour than I would like. Average finish. (4464 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
