Community Tasting Notes (average 87.5 pts. and median of 87 pts. in 4 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by brinko99 on 10/13/2015 & rated 90 points: Enjoyed very much. Ice cold with spicy food the wine showed amazingly well; nuance of both wine and food enhanced. On its own, the wine showed amazing depth but a grapefruit acid remained bitter through a long finish. (1271 views)

Steingrübler

THE GRAND CRU STEINGRUBLER
Located at the west of Wettolsheim, the Steingrubler hillsides are exposed to south-east between 280 and 350m of altitude, covering 22,95ha. The upper part of the Steingrubler is a soil of predilection for the Riesling, because of its sandy ground. The lower part which is being richer, more limestone, is perfect for Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris.
The name Steingrubler recalls the existence of carries at Wettolsheim as early as 13th century.
The Grand Cru Steingrubler wines are robust, rich in aroma, full-bodied and solidly-structured. They offer a bouquet of a large smoothness with sometimes mineral or floral nuances. They are wines of long guard.
