Tasted by lesliecarolgriffith@gmail.com on 2/19/2019 & rated 89 points: Very good. Wish I could find the other one. (986 views)
Tasted by Jetjock on 2/7/2015 & rated 89 points: Very flavorful the first night and a great QPR. But, faded fruit and flat by second night. Drink now and do it on Day 1. (2438 views)
Tasted by showard on 8/7/2014 & rated 87 points: Lots of VA. Really bright and fruity upon opening. Delicious except for the weird VA. Calmed down a little over the next couple days. Left about 8 oz in the fridge for a little over two weeks, poured and let it come up to cellar temp. Wow, what a difference! Next bottles I will open, pour a little off and re-cork for 2-3 weeks. Great CdR at that point. (3021 views)
Tasted by graphite on 8/23/2012 & rated 86 points: VA prickles the nose and tongue. Extracted but not overripe blackberry fruit followed by bitter-edged garrigue and tapenade notes. Very primary. I found this a somewhat disjointed mix of rustic and modern. I'm not surprised many found it better on day 2 (after the VA dissipates, presumably). Could possibly improve with more age. (4858 views)
Tasted by seppej on 7/16/2012 & rated 92 points: Nose: Solid base of dark berries - Cofee in the middle - semi complex spicy top
Taste: Great acidity - Great balance - Nice structure & power... (5022 views)
Tasted by vy#10 on 6/23/2012: Very good for $. Rich, with grilled meat and herb du Provence. (4547 views)
Tasted by ArturoG on 3/6/2012 & rated 89 points: A bit too much alcohol when I opened the bottle but improved on the second day, with the scent of wet dark dirt starting showing thru. Would drink again as an everyday table wine but I think the 2007 has reached or past it's prime. (3067 views)
Tasted by 23dex on 3/6/2012 & rated 88 points: not sure about this one... i think i'll like it more tomorrow. strong dark fruit, that dark dirt smell... but just didn't mesh together well. have a feeling it will get better after a day. (3864 views)
Tasted by cmr on 12/30/2011 & rated 90 points: Drank over 2 days and 89 on first and on the 2nd improved to a 90 pointer. (2102 views)
Tasted by ecola on 9/19/2011 & rated 89 points: Aromas and flavors of red raspberry with a little smokiness. A good dose of acidity makes this very lively. (2433 views)
Tasted by bajayngo on 4/20/2011: When 1st popped this way over the top in my opinion. All of the stuff I generally love i.e. raspberry, potting soil, soy, underbrush, anise etc. But the extraction was in your face and the alc was showing a bit. Not overtly bad but too much for me and not what I want outta CDR. Now on day two it was a different story. The fruit and alc had integrated. So maybe this just need more time.....much more time! (2835 views)
Tasted by CieloVista on 4/7/2011 & rated 87 points: ...similar to Mar's tasting but smoother. This bottlw was less acidic and oak flavors started coming through after decanting for 1+ hrs. (1023 views)
Tasted by CieloVista on 3/6/2011 & rated 85 points: Dark ruby red with aromas of dark fruit and oak. It was balanced, dry, full bodied and a little acidic. It had flavors of cherries, herbs and pepper. The finish was medium. (982 views)
Tasted by kstoddard on 2/9/2011 & rated 88 points: Dark ruby color. Earthy red fruit nose. Tastes of raspberry, cherry, earth, and some toasted oak. Good freshness. Fruit forward finish with a very deep earthiness. (3154 views)
Tasted by ecola on 2/3/2011 & rated 85 points: Aromas and flavors of cherry, a little raspberry, and light oak. For some reason I expected more from this, but I still like it. Rather short finish, but initial flavors are good. ($13) (3011 views)
Tasted by blee357 on 1/29/2011 & rated 88 points: Dark fruit, fine tannins, and a little oak. Medium bodied and nice. (3264 views)
Tasted by jeffal66 on 1/21/2011 & rated 88 points: No notes but I recall as enjoyable and good with food. (3174 views)
Tasted by tbailey540 on 1/7/2011 & rated 89 points: Good stuff (3207 views)
Tasted by tbailey540 on 12/19/2010 & rated 88 points: Nice medium body with red and dark fruits. easy drinking with or without food (3309 views)
Tasted by peternelson on 9/10/2010 & rated 90 points: Nice ripe blue-blackberry fruit; juicy, medium body, good balance, velvety mouth; nice herbal note, light fresh tobacco-leaf finish with drying sticky tannins. A concentrated, fairly rich CdR still with good typicity for the appellation. (1072 views)
Tasted by Marces on 7/2/2010 & rated 87 points: First fridays at the Frick. With the Smiths.

(3738 views)
Tasted by mariadans on 5/25/2010 & rated 80 points: fruity, some tannin on finish, graphite (3830 views)
Tasted by Tony Poli on 5/14/2010 & rated 89 points: Medium dark red-purple color. Barnyard and earth on the nose. Earthy, almost manure on the palate, with winter fruits lingering. (This is the strangest tasting note I've ever written for a wine I liked...). Long, pleasant finish. Classic Cotes du Rhone. Seems like it might get better with a little time. (4185 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 3/9/2010: Seaweed and salt, a little bit like reduced soy sauce. In the nicest possible way of course. Great with Japanese food? Works at $16. (3906 views)
Tasted by hutch on 10/14/2009 & rated 88 points: Robert Kacher Tasting (Taj, Boston MA): Some spice. A little more serious then the Brunel preceding it. I'd give this some time before trying. Good stuff. (4742 views)

Red Rhone Blend

Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines
On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.

A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
