Community Tasting Notes (average 87.2 pts. and median of 88 pts. in 41 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Carib on 5/1/2020 & rated 88 points: A lovely $10 bottle consumed with pasta and veg. Strong body, earthy, still holds up, suavisimo. (745 views)
Tasted by Wine4Cam on 1/28/2020 & rated 83 points: Aerated.! Old leather and Cherry fruit notes, medium tannins good acidity and sour cherry fruit on the pallete and finish. Good pizza wine. (825 views)
Tasted by Harley1199 on 5/12/2018: Suave yet effective Puglia wine.
Dirty aromas of beef, stones and dark fruit on the nose, not very precise neither robust.
On the palate very simple. I liked its acidity and finish. No grip nor length at all.
However an honest fermented juice if nothing else, a little boring.

(1466 views)
Tasted by Nike-Raider on 4/25/2017 & rated 89 points: Still strong & consistent with previous tastings (2027 views)
Tasted by Nike-Raider on 4/15/2016 & rated 89 points: Two years after I tried it last, I find much less fruit and more black spice, chocolate and tobacco. Still has some acidic brightness and tannins that should carry it through 2018. (2643 views)
Tasted by macavity on 1/8/2016 & rated 85 points: A bit too sharp and acidic for my taste. Thin/watery flavor as well. (2332 views)
Tasted by vinniemontoni on 4/22/2015 & rated 89 points: Great weekday wine. Pairs really well with Pizza or Pasta and tomato sauce. (2987 views)
Tasted by willpluc on 4/5/2015 & rated 80 points: The wine looks tawny colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. The body is light. The wine has bright texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has high acidity. Wine was fizzy/tingly, suspect some re-fermentation going on. Taste was ok. Nose was ok. (2556 views)
Tasted by Massimo Alessandria on 4/1/2015 & rated 86 points: Bell'assemblaggio per un vino che tende sul finale un pochino sull'amaro/vegetale, ma che si fa bere proprio volentieri. (1911 views)
Tasted by Merky_Waters on 10/25/2014 & rated 87 points: well worth $10 and a great pizza wine.

cherry, baking spice, a little hint of coffee, all wrapped up with good acid and round juicy tannins. There are other Puglia reds with bigger fruit at this price but this is a balanced safe weeknight dinner red. (2272 views)
Tasted by zoom34 on 8/9/2014 & rated 90 points: Got 10 bucks in your pocket? Look no further - we've got a winner! Great Value. (2425 views)
Tasted by Rahsaan_Kirk on 4/28/2014: bon petit vin, assez sec, pas trop charnu, agréable. ŕ racheter... (2219 views)
Tasted by Nike-Raider on 1/20/2014 & rated 88 points: Great QPR on this nice IGT. Fruit forward, easy drinking crowd pleaser. (2500 views)
Tasted by BaylinBoy on 1/13/2014 & rated 89 points: agree with another reviewer - even better than 2010 ! - this is absolutely one of the best price-quality wines out there - enjoy - red berry fruit, purple hues, smooth taste and peppery finish - excellent (2405 views)
Tasted by Mike Kopanski on 12/24/2013 & rated 89 points: This is even better than the 2010 we tried a few months ago. This is a fairly rich, mouth coating, very smooth red wine. The color is purple, but by no means opaque. The nose is bramble and blueberry. The fruit has a very quick hitting plum and blueberry that with just a touch more concentration would be a 90 point wine. Almost full bodied. Some white pepper spice with the somewhat laid back by Italian standards, acidity. This is way more expressive than most of the Italian wines we get at this price point. The finish is a youngish combination of blueberry and plum (2065 views)
Tasted by leener10 on 4/11/2013: Purplish red, limpid, quite viscose.
Grapey nose, cooked plums, some herbaciousness (bell pepper).
Soft tannins and good acidity. Not complex on the palate, weak-medium body but well balanced. (1540 views)
Tasted by socidelvino on 2/4/2013 & rated 87 points: Tasted at Pius Eppendorf, Hamburg

Eye: dark purple color. Nose: barnyard, dark berries, some, leather, herbs. Palate: full body, good fruit but not jammy, dried fruit, medium finish. (2764 views)
