| Tasted by Mike Kopanski on 9/25/2013 & rated 85 points: Rarely do I try the same wine 2 days in a row, but this one really intrigues me. I don't like everything I taste on this wine, but I do love and respect the mature bottle aged nuances that cross the palate. Not perfect, but still vibrant and explosive black cherry fruit backed up with graphite and earth. The Cabernet and Syrah give the Sangiovese some help with the mouth feel and mid palate. Some secondary flavors like lanolin, hemlock and pepper. More weight than the Sangiovese could do by itself. A litt bit of what seems to be artificial acidity. Black cherry with acid on the finish. | Tasted by Syrogr on 2/7/2013 & rated 88 points: Unbeatable price for a delightful Tuscan blend. I understand that Sangiovese is very much akin to Syrah, so this is like a Syrah-Cab blend. Not at all jammy, light and fruity with lots of pepper. (2307 views) |
