Tasted by Invinoveritas9 on 7/17/2023 flawed bottle: Bad year (737 views)
Tasted by Winedog1 on 11/19/2022 & rated 95 points: Probably underrated. Marmalade. Honey. Lemon finish. Peach. Apricot. Perfect with foie gras terrine. Fantastic wine. (955 views)
Tasted by DrBad on 8/31/2019 & rated 93 points: Purchased at Far Niente a few years ago and finally popped it open at the end of a family birthday dinner (with carrot cake). Very tasty. Syrupy vanilla, honey, peach, apricot. Everyone loved and it many said they preferred it to the Sauternes I've brought out in the past, There isn't quite as much of the Noble Rot funk in the Dolce so probably a little more approachable. (3307 views)
Tasted by danielbleier on 11/27/2018 & rated 91 points: nice balance of honey/apricot and acidity. (3298 views)
Tasted by pinot_glenn on 9/30/2018: Apricot, sweet fruit, good acidity (3251 views)
Tasted by sdr on 7/14/2018 & rated 87 points: Peter’s half bottle. Peter likes it as much as Yquem. It’s an okay dessert wine. Maybe a little more interesting and better balanced than some other California sweeties, and some less successful Sauternes, but it’s no Yquem- or Rieussec, de Fargues, Climens or Lafaurie-Peyraguey. Quickly becomes tiring to drink despite adequate acids. Just too simple. “Boring plus” rating. (3440 views)
Tasted by AllRed on 5/26/2018 & rated 89 points: Courtesy of tlv. Peach, honey and pineapple notes. Medium body. Pear and white peach flavors with a medium+ finish. I'd like just a touch more acid. 89-90 pts. (3438 views)
Tasted by Tahlequahdave1972 on 5/11/2018 & rated 94 points: This wine was a Mother's Day gift for my wife given a couple of days early and, as such, my exposure was somewhat limited. The nose was intoxicating and aromatic, reminding me of the ripened fruits under a hot sun in my youth, including apricot and peach, along with white flowers, pie crust and vanilla. The myriad of flavors translated from the nose while adding toasted caramel, butterscotch, almond, honeysuckle and pound cake. Rich and concentrated, the initial sweetness is balanced adeptly with sufficient acidity to carry this offering well into the future. Velvety, full-bodied and classy in texture, while the finish is impressive, generous and lingering. I'm definitely not an expert on dessert wines, but this beauty is a fine example of the enticing nature of fine "sweet" cuvees. (1842 views)
Tasted by thelostverse on 3/22/2018 & rated 94 points: Far Niente dinner at Boulder. Served with dessert. Apricot and stone fruit in a viscous mouthfeel. Very sweet, but not cloyingly so. Long finish with excellent balance. (1857 views)
Tasted by mhauser on 1/2/2018: Excellent but not sure worth the price of admission. (1985 views)
Tasted by La Cave d'Argent on 10/29/2017 & rated 95 points: This deep golden "sticky" is an unspecified blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, made in a style to emulate the great sweet wines of Sauternes. Intensely aromatic, it serves up an intoxicating array of apricots, yellow peaches, tangerines, crème brûlée and honeysuckle. On the palate, it is unctuous and very sweet, yet the sweetness is beautifully balanced by fresh acidity. The flavors are rich, complex and concentrated, essentially mirroring the nose. This wine sees 32 months of oak aging (100% new) during its élevage, but there is not the slightest hint of excessive wood. Instead, the oak in this case adds another dimension of creamy vanilla that melds nicely with the other flavors. Weighty but vibrant on the mid-palate, it concludes with a finish that seems to last forever. While the relative merits of this wine vis-à-vis less expensive competitors from Sauternes itself can be debated, there is no question that this is a quality dessert wine that will last a long time. Drink now-2045. (2189 views)
Tasted by EpochMD on 7/14/2017 & rated 94 points: This wine is always a stunner - no better Sauterne style wine made anywhere in Napa. I always pull this out for people that say "I don't like sweet or dessert wines." They always leave as converts. Vanilla, soft citrus, butterscotch . . . in a cool, long finish. I love this wine so much. (2175 views)
Tasted by Cuellar's Cellar on 1/25/2017 & rated 92 points: A wine that will last a week. i was drinking this with great cheese over a 7 day period. You don't need much as the sugar levels are much higher. (2409 views)
Tasted by croftar0 on 9/24/2016 & rated 92 points: Unsure of when drank (2384 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
