Community Tasting Notes (average 89.7 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 4 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by sayward on 12/10/2017 & rated 91 points: Still drinking well. Longevity of this wine was impressive. Still drank young. (873 views)
Tasted by ntruder on 8/2/2015 & rated 88 points: Tasty well made viognier - very much spot on to expectations of the varietal, but not amazeballs. I would buy again at about $20 if I was in the mood for this variety, but not a wine I would seek out again. (782 views)
Tasted by IJC on 11/26/2014: Deep yellow/ golden color; ripe melon and whiff of hay on the nose; heavy mouth feel, and a flavor that quickly becomes surprisingly sweet. Not enough acidity to balance, especially, when drinking on its own. Perhaps with food? I will leave that for another to explore...

Rated 0 on a scale of -1 to 3. But, I won't be buying more. (992 views)

Viogner is wrong wine

This is nonsense.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
