Tasted by jmottern on 7/3/2015 & rated 89 points: Pale yellow almost clear light body wine. Nice fruit with balanced acidity. Average finish. A good daily drinker. (2040 views)
Tasted by George Lopez on 2/8/2015 & rated 89 points: Really nice sipper that paired nicely with grilled marlin. (2226 views)
Tasted by cdmoky on 4/16/2014 & rated 90 points: Very well balanced. Richer body than typical. Acidity left tongue tingling. Green notes well controlled. Closer to Loire type than California. (2944 views)
Tasted by Windy5407 on 3/22/2014 & rated 91 points: We did a seared yellow fin tuna with a pistachio crust. The wine was used in the sauce before coating the fish. This was a very good meal paired with broccolini, red peppers and rice . There was lots of wine left to enjoy with the meal. Lots of fruit flavours. Especially a bit colder. (3048 views)
Tasted by Vailman on 3/20/2014 & rated 91 points: This was a fun wine to enjoy on a warm night with a light dinner consisting of salad, seafood and pasta. Plenty of fruit with notes of honeysuckle, melon and peach. Good acidity. Not a serious wine but then again it wasn't a serious evening. (2881 views)
Tasted by Valbonne on 2/17/2014 & rated 93 points: The wine looks light gold colored. The legs are fast. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like lemon and honeysuckle. It tastes like strawberry, grapefruit, lemon and peach. The body is light. The wine has bright texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has medium acidity. (1420 views)
Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 1/16/2014 & rated 90 points: Napa Wines With John Conover (Civil Cigar Lounge - Washington, DC): Aromas of white peach, green apple, honeysuckle and lemon zest. Crisp and clean on the palate, with green apple peel, white peach and apricot flavors. I love the mineral and sea shell components in this wine. In a sea of mediocre Napa Sauv Blancs, this one exudes personality. (1510 views)
Tasted by jmottern on 12/1/2013 & rated 91 points: Excellent sauvignon blanc. Floral nose with very nicely balanced fruit. Went excellent with BBQ halibut. (939 views)
Tasted by Chucks Wines on 11/28/2013: 2013 Wine pairing.

Paired with warm goat cheese in filo pastry with sautéed onions and fig jam. (890 views)
Tasted by MarkMich on 11/11/2013 & rated 92 points: This may be my favorite Sauvignon Blanc. Bought at the winery and wish I would have got more. Paired great with Pan seared asiago crusted Halibut. (990 views)
Tasted by La Cave d'Argent on 10/3/2013 & rated 92 points: Napa Valley Wine and Food Excursion 2013; 9/30/2013-10/5/2013 (Napa Valley, California): Blended with small amounts of Sémillon and Viognier, this pale yellow wine has an intensely floral nose, accented with aromas of pears, stone fruits and honeydew. Light-bodied and with fresh acidity, it follows with flavors mirroring the nose. The alcohol (listed as 14.2%) is nicely integrated and the middle palate is solid. The wine finishes long and crisp. This Sauvignon Blanc has undoubtedly benefited greatly from the dollop of Viognier, as its most impressive quality is the floral beauty on the nose. Enjoy it young. Drink now-2015. (2946 views)
Tasted by wiscgrad on 8/24/2013 & rated 91 points: similiar notes to the previous bottle. (1072 views)
Tasted by StarM on 8/21/2013 & rated 90 points: Picked up a bottle at the winery to go with leftover cold fried chicken from ad hoc. Enjoyed the fruit forward -- white peach & mild apple acidity. Hint of floral on nose, but no grass or herbaceous taste on the palate. Well balanced and certainly went well with the chicken. (947 views)
Tasted by Lattequeen on 7/26/2013 & rated 92 points: Had this on a tasting at Cade winery while walking to the caves and it had me at hello. Honeysuckle, pineapple, and grapefruit on the nose, straw colored ..nice mouth feel, I like it right out of the fridge cold, and at its proper temp of 60 degrees...lovely summer wine, bought a case once home and will be getting another. Every time I serve it its a hit. AOC restaurant in Los Angeles had it on their wine list. (1106 views)
Tasted by wiscgrad on 7/25/2013 & rated 91 points: very light color. tons of grapefruit on the nose. nice acidity on the palate. lemon and tropical fruit flavors. very crisp and refreshing (1020 views)
Tasted by cos65 on 7/10/2013: Crisp, light straw colored. On palate it has an over acidified feel. Lots of other classic flavors though. Judgement reserved (1088 views)
Tasted by bzell on 7/3/2013 & rated 93 points: Great sauvignon blanc big notes on the nose of cut grass and green apples with good acidity on the palate. A good refreshing summer time wine. I liked the 2011 vintage and this is even better. At $25 much better than NZ Sb of similar price. (976 views)
Tasted by conga523 on 6/16/2013 & rated 91 points: Very floral nose. Bright crisp. I am not a big white drinker but really enjoyed this. (1068 views)

Sauvignon Blanc

Varietal Character

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
