Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 89.1 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 9 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Kris G on 3/30/2017 & rated 89 points: rich and concentrated with dark fruits, some heat but it isn't showing an overripe character, well balanced and complex, very good QPR (1405 views)
Tasted by Dadwine on 10/18/2015 & rated 88 points: I little tightly wound. (1655 views)
Tasted by TannicBeast on 7/26/2015 & rated 89 points: The sum of its parts is lighter and fresher than one would expect from a red from deep southern Italy. It is clear ruby with a hint of garnet on the rim. Medium intensity. The nose has some organic earthiness, red plum, black cherry. The palate is dry, with medium (+) alcohol at 14%, medium acidity, medium (+) tannins and medium (+) minerality, which the Italians would call "sapidity." The palate is consistent with the nose with some white pepper, licorice and milk chocolate on the finish. It is nicely balanced and drinking well - now that the tannins have been smoothened - but it could certainly cellar for several more years. (1760 views)
Tasted by Fred44 on 9/3/2013 & rated 91 points: Thick, earthy, and licoricey. Very smooth tannins. Great with homemade chicken enchiladas and black beans. (2424 views)
Tasted by TannicBeast on 8/24/2013 & rated 89 points: Dry, medium (+) alcohol at 14%, medium to medium (+) acidity. Still fairly tannic, with medium (++) tannins. Like all the other Librandi wines tasted, this exhibits a nice medium (+) minerality, which adds an interesting component. Magliocco is a fairly rare varietal that merits more exploration. (2388 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 2/7/2013 & rated 89 points: Dark red violet color; appealing, fresh, savory, light smoke, tart currant nose; savory, light smoke, tart currant, mineral palate with medium acidity; needs 2-3 years; medium-plus finish (317 views)
