A medium golden yellow in the glass, the nose beckons with apple, yeast and lemon. On the palate, both tart Red Delicious and green apple join with brioche and chalkiness, with Meyer lemon joining on the enjoyable, slightly creamy 20-second finish. Aging beautifully, and can go quite a few more years. Very nice, and now might be a good time to reup our Iron Horse Club Membership. (1185 views) | | Tasted by Ecb1456 on 4/23/2016 & rated 90 points: Beautiful golden color. Faint apples and toast to the nose. Bright effervescent yeastiness with a buttery apple notes. Touch of lime as well. Bright and cheerful bubbly. (1129 views) | | Tasted by rjquillin on 9/26/2015: $15 corkage; worth every penny. Nice crisp bottle that was excellent with some roasted balsamic brussels sprouts and curry-coconut mussels. (2052 views) | | Tasted by Mtn Cellar on 6/16/2015 & rated 95 points: Crisp and flavorful, certainly in its prime age. (1405 views) | | Tasted by klezman on 2/17/2015: Perfect wine to toast a new M.O.T. (2460 views) | | Tasted by cycfan on 8/25/2014 & rated 91 points: Big fan of this wine. Crisp and refreshing, with nice firm acid. On the nose I got sweet orange blossom, fresh sliced orange and nice yeast. On my palate a nice strong lime, and a hint of strawberry that stayed with you on the finish. As the name implies, great summer-time wine for a hot day. (875 views) | | Tasted by klezman on 6/24/2014: Delicious with sushi. Crisp, apple, citrus, and overall a great balanced bubbly. Perhaps not as complex and interesting as expected but on the Iron Horse scale it's pretty decent value. (2147 views) | | Tasted by scott w on 5/16/2014 & rated 84 points: All lime no depth and a terrible bitter finish, either not aging well or a bad bottle? (857 views) | | Tasted by oog on 10/13/2013 & rated 88 points: Nose: Lemon and a little bit of yeast. It is just not very forceful. Nice and easy but not much going on. Taste: A little lime. Perfectly fine but nothing to write home about. (1262 views) | | Tasted by kaelynn on 9/21/2013 & rated 96 points: Taste is crisp, light. Dry but not bone dry. Smells like peaches. Paired well with Pad Thai. (986 views) | | Tasted by scott w on 8/4/2013 & rated 93 points: Yeasty orange zest, lime and kiwi...floral nose great summer drinker! (767 views) | | Tasted by Ecb1456 on 8/4/2013 & rated 90 points: Rich bright color. Big creamy bubbles. Fruity citrus palate with a thick and creamy mouth feel. Hints of orange zest and burnt toast. Very refreshing. (789 views) |

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino County |
