| Community Tasting Notes (average 88.3 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 7 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Rob and Meg on 8/4/2014 & rated 89 points: Quite fresh with a wonderful herbal, grassy edge to its dew laden wild berry flavors. Great cut and structure for a rose, finishing with tense bitter orange and lemon citrus acidity. Dried green herbs and fresh flowers add complexity throughout. Great now, but should continue to improve over the short term. Drink or Hold. (778 views) | | Tasted by jsander on 3/30/2014 & rated 86 points: Very nice enjoyable quaffer. (654 views) | | Tasted by Rob and Meg on 12/16/2013 & rated 89 points: A bit less vivid and lively than our previous bottle, though nonetheless filled with juicy, brambly wild berries, crushed gravel, and floral dried herbs. Medium bodied and fairly structured for a rose, with lively red berry acidity throughout. Likely for the short term, but its always interesting to see where these go with a few years in the cellar. (711 views) | | Tasted by Rob and Meg on 10/17/2013 & rated 90 points: Vivid, lively aromas of wild strawberry, morning dew, melon rind, and tangerine. The palate is expressive and filled with wild berry fruit, backed by dried herbs and orange citrus acidity. A wonderful interplay of raspberry hard candy and citrus acidity defines the finish. Delicious, and interesting. (725 views) |
| Linden Producer website Tasting of Linden Hardscrabble sourced from a visit to the estate winery and vineyards. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2021/03/linden-hardscrabble-virginia-red-blend.htmlRosé Blend"Rosé blend" can mean a blend of just about any varietals since the designation comes from the resulting color of the wine.Rosé Rosé - WikipediaUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.Virginia Virginia Wines (Virginia Wineries Association) |
