Its aroma is of lemon, apple and pine and it has a tangy, twisted similar taste with a touch of black pepper when opened. With time it smooths out and develops into a very pleasant and complex flavor. This chardonnay is a bit different and you should expect that, but as it develops it becomes very pleasant. Not your typical chardonnay, if you like adventure, this wine will please you. It also has a light to medium body with a very smooth texture over time, light acidity and a medium finish. When finished, it will become clear to you why the scores on this wine vary so widely. (2396 views) | | Tasted by adonnelly001 on 6/4/2014 & rated 83 points: Tasty, I enjoyed drinking it. Buttery, green fruit, smooth to drink, not incredibly fragrant or complex but enjoyable The wine looks light gold colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. Drinkable but there are many better wines at and below this price point. (3749 views) | | Tasted by tbone on 2/4/2014: What a nice surprise, a very good chardonnay. Steely, salty, lemon oil, ocean air. Wow so clean. Little butter, citrus and ample acid. Me likey! (3260 views) | | Tasted by Mike Kopanski on 1/4/2014 & rated 86 points: To my palate, this is a lot of Chardonnay for $13 (in South Carolina). We have all of the stuff we expect from quality Chardonnay. A herbal nose with some oak, and some buttery stuff with peach and lime. Close to full bodied. Spicy and creamy from malo, oak and just good grapes. It is fruity, mellow and creamy. Balanced. Mostly ready to drink. (1674 views) | | Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 11/12/2013 & rated 86 points: Neon yellow-gold color. Smells like honey, white peach, pineapple and hazelnut. Oily texture, medium acid, with white peach and mango mixed in with coconut, honey and a bit of a saline note. Tasty stuff for the price. (1361 views) | | Tasted by t4drman on 11/11/2013 & rated 80 points: Just not my kind of chardonnay. Heavy, seemingly oaky, or "buttery" and not allowing the "true" chardonnay flavors to come forward. Unfortunately for me this chardonnay is mythical. I'm sure it works in limited ways but I want more of the grape, not the barrel it was made in. (1305 views) | | Tasted by Motz on 11/1/2013 & rated 84 points: Heavy, and heavily oaked. Reasonably concentrated, lacking acid, short finish. This wine needs food. (1126 views) | | Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 9/20/2013 & rated 87 points: Light yellow color; ripe pear, baked apple, apple pie filling nose; tart pear, tart apple palate with good acidity; short-medium finish (13.5% alcohol) 87+ points (619 views) | | Tasted by sdwineguru on 9/12/2013 & rated 89 points: Pale straw gold; weedy Chardonnay nose; oak, citrus, stone fruit; mid-body, mid-viscosity; good acids (6.28); improves with air; good style for the price ($15 or so). w/chicken cordon bleu (1126 views) |

| True Myth Producer websiteChardonnay The Chardonnay GrapeUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Coasthttp://www.ccwinegrowers.org/links.html
