Luscious, elegant with a lot of depth -- black fruit, woody, brambly and dry, dry, dry - no sweetness here. Typical Dry Creek Valley - no in your face fruit, with everything well integrated. If you don't do that, you won't like the result.The screw top seal on this did not seal it well and noticed some leakage, so we drank it right away and it was exceptional, as always. Dark, brooding appearance. Nose was slightly inky, woody, spicy. Taste was earthy, spicy, hint of mocha with a great finish. While relatively balanced, it seemed lacking in almost every other way: depth, complexity, viscosity. Simple nose of cherry.
