Tasted by PolarBear22 on 11/25/2015 & rated 88 points: What a great Zin. A little over the top to pair with pizza. But why can't the wine be the best part of the night? (2747 views)
Tasted by Z1nnfull on 9/24/2015 & rated 90 points: This took a lot of breathing and decanting to open up, but well worth it.
If you don't do that, you won't like the result.
Luscious, elegant with a lot of depth -- black fruit, woody, brambly and dry, dry, dry - no sweetness here. Typical Dry Creek Valley - no in your face fruit, with everything well integrated. Great finish. Just took a LONGGGG time to open up. Through 2016... (2611 views)
Tasted by jillietee on 2/28/2015 & rated 91 points: Delicious. Good fruit. Medium finish. Good body. Great zin!!! (2834 views)
Tasted by Crystal on 1/26/2015 & rated 90 points: juicy, lovely (2943 views)
Tasted by dfitzg2 on 10/19/2014 & rated 92 points: The fruit jumps out at you, but is not over-powering. The taste develops nicely and the finish is exceptional. (3342 views)
Tasted by familydoc on 6/23/2014: Nose: extracted jam, alcohol is heavy

Taste: inky, jammy, jalapeno (1645 views)

If you don't do that, you won't like the result. The screw top seal on this did not seal it well and noticed some leakage, so we drank it right away and it was exceptional, as always. Dark, brooding appearance. Nose was slightly inky, woody, spicy. Taste was earthy, spicy, hint of mocha with a great finish. Truly an exceptional Sonoma Zin for the $$$ (1909 views)
Tasted by Omadobs on 12/31/2013 & rated 86 points: I wanted to like this wine more than I did. While relatively balanced, it seemed lacking in almost every other way: depth, complexity, viscosity. Simple nose of cherry. While I don't mind the claret-style of zinfandel, there was nothing interesting or noteworthy about this wine. Entirely forgettable zin. (1785 views)

Zinfandel

ZAP: Zinfandel Advocates & Producers | Varietal character (Appellation America) | Wikipedia-Zinfandel

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
