| Community Tasting Notes (average 86.3 pts. and median of 86 pts. in 6 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by aajder on 10/6/2015 & rated 83 points: The nose is a bit rustic, showing citrus and minerals. This is medium light bodied on the palate, with good concentration but a lack of finesse. A bit flimsy. Medium length. (869 views) | | Tasted by Ron&nina on 5/14/2015 & rated 85 points: Peppery and not very impressive. Finish was very light and lacked any real body. (987 views) | | Tasted by njgolfer on 9/17/2014 & rated 87 points: Pronounced acidic bite when paired with spicy sushi.
Pretty much lime driven on the palate with a lean but fairly long finish. Hint of wild flowers on the nose. Moderately dry. (1243 views) | | Tasted by juffer on 5/18/2014 & rated 90 points: Enjoyed this slightly more than the Ravines '13 dry riesling. Lime nose, a bit more minerality than is typical for finger lakes. Finish has an herbal savory note (sage I suppose). (1440 views) | | Tasted by margolism on 5/5/2014 & rated 86 points: Not as strong as previous vintages. (1392 views) |
| Dr. Konstantin Frank Producer websiteUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.New York Uncork New York!
