Tasted by Le croque bouchon on 11/5/2016 & rated 91 points: Reçu en cadeau.

Received as a gift. Raspberry jam, dried herbs, some alcohol and dried meat. Rich, glycerin, raspberries, lots of fruit. There is a nice acidity to bring balance and a lingering port-like finish, nice different Zin experience (for me). (1617 views)
Tasted by corkscrews on 4/13/2015 & rated 89 points: A nose of dark fruits and spice, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied Zin, with blackberries, black currants, not a jammy as previous years, spice on finish. www.winelx.com (2116 views)
Tasted by cuffthis on 8/28/2014 & rated 84 points: Dark ruby in color, this wine showed very muted aromatics of wild cherry, spice and mocha. The mouth feel was surprisingly soft for a zin and brought muted brambly tones. The finish was medium in length with soft tannins and added stewed strawberry notes.

Purchased BTB at Domaine Hudson wine bar & eatery in Wilmington, DE (which I founded in 2005 and sold in 2011), this bottle seemed somewhat off with its muted nose. I've enjoyed this offering over the years and its usually much more expressive. (2458 views)
Tasted by quaffnov on 7/3/2014 & rated 91 points: Two hour decant, the bouquet is rich with cherry, strawberry, marmalade and mocha highlights. Fruity and slightly acidic with no real tannic presence, the mouthfeel is thick with the expected spicy note a good zin always presents. A complex finish, this is a solid drink that a few more years in the cellar will improve further, (2451 views)
Tasted by Rubberducky on 2/26/2014 & rated 83 points: Long time since I had a zin....don't know if it's the zin or how the wine was made but it felt too "sweet"...like a Menage a trois. For the price, I was expecting something better. (2238 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
