Tasted by buckeye76 on 12/24/2020 & rated 95 points: Better than previous bottles but probably because of the pairing. Everyone agreed, this wine was the perfect match for Christmas Eve cioppino. Still going strong (898 views)
Tasted by pjhr on 9/11/2020 & rated 93 points: Simply delicious! Similar tasting notes to last years bottle! (779 views)
Tasted by TXRhoneRanger on 9/4/2020 & rated 93 points: WOW Indeed. Pedal to the Metal Roussanne. Lots of mixed florals, mint, apricot jam, beeswax, and some kick. No where going tired. Great wine if you are looking for a big-un! (796 views)
Tasted by jhngo on 8/23/2020 & rated 88 points: Wow. High octane white. Fresh citrus with a buttery unctuous component. Spicy minty potpourri. (832 views)
Tasted by buckeye76 on 10/12/2019 & rated 93 points: I can't disagree with my notes of a year ago, "Delicious Roussanne with citrus and green apples and hints of honey. Full bodied wine with nice structure and acidity and a long finish. Gorgeous, don't know why more California wineries aren't making this..." This hasn't lost a beat from last year. Yum! (995 views)
Tasted by markydecker on 7/22/2019 & rated 94 points: Beautiful wine. Apricots, orange rind, a little honey, balanced with good acidity and full body. This one needed some cellar time and it definitely helped. This is in the zone, but well cellared bottles will pay dividends. An outstanding alternative to the usual whites, and always fun to drink. As usual, John Alban nails it. (674 views)
Tasted by pjhr on 5/28/2019 & rated 93 points: Floral notes on the nose with delicious apricot, green apple, and minerality on the palate with creamy texture and a long finish. (503 views)
Tasted by Bob & Sue Atlanta on 12/16/2018 & rated 85 points: Second bottle of this - not impressive at all. Seems disjointed and fading. Maybe Roussanne is not age worthy? (1022 views)
Tasted by dlduchon on 8/30/2018 & rated 90 points: I liked this much more than my prior review. Time appears to have brought it into balance. Wonderful, complex wine. Interesting bitter aftertaste. (777 views)
Tasted by buckeye76 on 6/30/2018 & rated 93 points: Delicious Roussanne with citrus and green apples and hints of honey. Full bodied wine with nice structure and acidity and a long finish. Gorgeous, don't know why more California wineries aren't making this... 93/94 (867 views)
Tasted by rpenn77 on 5/13/2018 & rated 93 points: Notes of caramel and rich mouthfeel. A delightful but different white. Worth finding. (802 views)
Tasted by dlcass on 12/22/2017 & rated 97 points: Wow! Amazing! Aromatics of orange marmalade, mascarpone. On the palate it is reminiscent of Austrian Riesling- some petrol with the other characteristics noted above. Nicely in a drinking window. (I wrote this of my own tasting- but now see my notes are quite similar to that of Galloni). (950 views)
Tasted by Bob & Sue Atlanta on 1/1/2017 & rated 86 points: Seemed to be fading, past its prime..... (1045 views)
Tasted by dlduchon on 1/16/2016 & rated 87 points: I enjoyed this wine but it is cumbersome and heavy. Too extracted, a touch of bite on the finish but not enough to balance out the unctuousity. Tight aromatics. I am not sure age will help. (1495 views)
Tasted by MC2 Wines on 11/21/2015: Q4 wine club - Rhone varietals that are not Syrah (The Apt): Wine #6: Drank as part of a blind tasting. I actually had this later in the day as I did all of the reds first and then went back to the whites. My favorite of the whites - by far the most complex and interesting. I get those flavors that I love in Roussannes - honey, lime, creaminess. There is maybe a hint of acidity here, but not overly so. Just keeps changing on the tongue. Excellent wine. (1633 views)
Tasted by WineArchitect on 11/20/2015 & rated 94 points: The last and always the best. Wonderful honeysuckle and lanolin nose. Lovely flavors along with the exotic aromatics make this such a fun and unusual glass of wine. Paired up side by side with an 01 JL Chave Ermitage Blanc. (1263 views)
Tasted by Knicksfan on 9/18/2015 & rated 92 points: Love this wine; (1199 views)
Tasted by ogres3 on 8/20/2015 & rated 91 points: Enjoyable light wine for a hot day. (1120 views)
Tasted by MC2 Wines on 2/24/2015: It is 100% unfair because I am comparing this in my mind to the Beacuastel Roussanne and it's not quite the same level. It's good - there's a sortof softness that I like in that grape that seems to come from some oak but without the buttery notes. It's just a touch of honeysuckle. It's good, not great. But enjoyable I think. (1169 views)
Tasted by Vinophiliac559 on 8/29/2014 & rated 92 points: Lots of oak, near perfect balance, great acidity, velvety texture (407 views)

Estate

In the United States, "Wines with “estate bottled” designations must: a) also designate an appellation of origin or an AVA, and both the vineyards and the winery must be located there; b) the grapes must come from vineyards owned or controlled by the winery; and c) the wine must have been produced, from crush to bottle, in a continuous process without leaving the winery’s premises."

- WINE LABEL FAQS: A QUICK SUMMARY OF LABEL DESIGNATION RULES" by David E. Stoll

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
