Tasted by galewskj on 4/10/2024 & rated 88 points: I had a great experience with an older Blue Eyed boy a few years ago. Therefore I intentionally kept this longer than I normally would. Regrettably it didn't work out so great. Decanted 30 minutes, drank half the bottle over 2 hours, the moniker shiraz fits this wine well. Dense, brooding, a touch jammy, with clear oak influence. If you like them big and burly, this is literally your jam. (149 views)
Tasted by Shak on 12/26/2023 & rated 91 points: Bold yet smooth. Delicious! (177 views)
Tasted by Bistrostu on 11/6/2021 & rated 87 points: May need more time? Still quite warm on the palate heaps going on but perhaps not the best balance. Had a good breathing before consuming but didn’t help much (1206 views)
Tasted by Mtnmd1 on 5/8/2021 & rated 92 points: In an excellent spot for the style. Smoothed out and the jammy elements in balance. Really enjoyed (1230 views)
Tasted by redbrix on 11/26/2020 & rated 90 points: Dark black red and fairly murky. A nice nose of cherry, grape and leather. Round and smooth with cherry and vanilla flavors. (1435 views)
Tasted by SGates on 3/24/2020 & rated 91 points: Same ole Mollydooker. Powerful, dark berry, loads of oak and then more of everything!! Not showing any signs of slowing down. (1663 views)
Tasted by mkbabs on 12/30/2019 & rated 90 points: still drinking very well, no sign of excess age. (1650 views)
Tasted by sortiarius on 6/28/2019 & rated 88 points: Quite simple aroma and flavor profile with primary aromas of ripe black berries mixing with strong secondary aromas of oak. Acidity and tannins are quite weak skewing the balance to the sweet side. Have not developed any noteworthy tertiary traits despite keeping for a few years (vintage 2013). Definetely a wine that is made'ready for consumption' the moment it comes out. Medium finish without further complexity. Had with grilled beef tenderloin with seemed an acceptable match. (1548 views)
Tasted by Wine Warrior 1 on 3/16/2019 & rated 91 points: Wine has big flavor and big alcohol. Deep dark fruit on the front end finishes with more than a hint of alcohol. If this wine was at 14.8 it may not have carried the sweetness of this wine but it would have been more balanced. The big fruit gets the wine into the 90's but the imbalance keeps it from a bigger score. (1580 views)
Tasted by Benny 4600 on 11/2/2018 & rated 91 points: Super lækker vin med masser af frugt og fad og laaag eftersmag (1669 views)
Tasted by Birkmeier on 7/1/2018 & rated 91 points: Everything you love from a Molly Dook Shiraz... (1762 views)
Tasted by Z1nnfull on 5/13/2018 & rated 92 points: The secret, apparently from our experience, was to let this breathe for a good number of hours and NOT decant. The 16.5% alcohol is rather off-putting when you read it, but after breathing it was rather integrated in the wine and it would be easy upon earlier opening to say it was sweet, rather the alcohol, but as I said, hours of breathing made it all right. Jammy, juicy, plummy...we had it with an amped-up spicy rack of lamb with basil/pesto mint sauce which was a prefect pairing. A bottle of this @ 16.5% alcohol will leave the two of you feeling no pain (comfortably numb?) and appreciative of the food match with the wine. This is definitely a DRINK NOW. Do not see long term aging potential, but then we like the younger ones... (1790 views)
Tasted by Dr. Bee on 11/19/2017 & rated 89 points: Big fan of mollydooker. This bottle was pretty tame. Still, quite jammy, but has probably peaked. Drink up! (1984 views)
Tasted by AnonymousCoward on 10/19/2017 & rated 87 points: It’s big, with huge jammy fruit. However the alcohol heat from the 16% ABV is noticeable here, unlike some of the Carnival of Love and Enchanted Paths I’ve reviewed previously. Not a fan of this one - the nose is dominated by the fruit, and the palate by the alcohol. (1917 views)
Tasted by Dmiller3 on 6/4/2017 & rated 90 points: Excellent all around - nice and jammy - smooth on the pallet - great with the barbecue meats (2089 views)
Tasted by Benny 4600 on 6/4/2017 & rated 91 points: Super kraftig frugbombe med masser af smag og alkohol (2461 views)
Tasted by JohnnyShiraz on 4/19/2017 & rated 96 points: A big 16.5% ABV jammy Shiraz. For me the tannins were silky smooth. At its peak. Served at 62 degrees since high alcohol wine. (2307 views)
Tasted by CabIPA on 4/5/2017: Still tight. Did the shake and decanted for 2 hours. The alcohol is still hot. Acidity and tannins need to mellow. This one needs time. Hold for now. (1847 views)
Tasted by safetyengineer on 11/26/2016 & rated 92 points: A hearty Australian Shiraz. I have reviewed this before, so this is just an update. The wine is deep purple color, good black berry nose, and rich smooth taste. I did not try the Mollydooker shake. (2369 views)
Tasted by rsed on 7/6/2016 & rated 92 points: Dark, brooding, slightly sweet, mocha, dark fruits yum (2294 views)
Tasted by K-Web24 on 5/7/2016 & rated 88 points: Very Jammy (almost too much so) when first opened but got less so with a little time in the glass. Nose and palate of vanilla, black berry, and black plum. Nice shiraz but there are better ones out there. (2268 views)
Tasted by easttide on 2/3/2016 & rated 88 points: Vanilla. Over extracte. Beastly alcohol. Goes down easy. Headache city. (2586 views)
Tasted by tshepard on 12/5/2015 & rated 90 points: Great Shiraz. Standard, nothing complex. (2894 views)
Tasted by yaki on 8/22/2015 & rated 87 points: Opaque purple core with light purple rim in the glass. Aromas of plum, bramble, gamey meat, and caramel. There is considerable heat in the wine. The palate brings blackberry, plush dark currant, dried plum, and raisin. Alcohol is high, and tannins are plush at medium length. Acidity is medium high, and the wine finishes at medium length. Overall, easy to drink but a bit simple and highly extracted. (2882 views)
Tasted by wino121 on 8/2/2015 & rated 90 points: over extracted, and grape juicy..flabby. (2395 views)
