| Community Tasting Notes (average 90.3 pts. and median of 91 pts. in 6 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Wine Problems on 6/29/2018 & rated 91 points: Rating this a 91 now, but will probably be a 93+ in another year, or so. Black and red fruit, and faint floral notes on the nose. Big and bold fruit on palate, including black cherry, red raspberry, and perhaps even pomegranate. Big tannic finish, which was quite enjoyable. Drinking quite well now, but as stated prior, give this one a little more time to smooth out, and you should be rewarded. (1394 views) | | Tasted by andrewdodd86 on 5/9/2018 & rated 90 points: Such dark fruit, some decent tannin, higher acid, Blackberry, some earth (1273 views) | | Tasted by rustyRudy on 5/9/2018 & rated 92 points: Sampled at the winery. All Mourvèdre. Smoke stony minerals, and finishes with big tannins. Dark fruit, plum pit, and black ripe cherry finish. Different. Needs years to mature. (1552 views) | | Tasted by AllRed on 1/27/2018 & rated 86 points: 4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Sue's): Double blind. Peppery briary dark fruit aromas follow through on the palate. Guessed zinfandel. 86-87 pts. (1772 views) |

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Coasthttp://www.ccwinegrowers.org/links.html
