| Community Tasting Notes (average 88.2 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 22 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by AllRed on 3/25/2022 & rated 89 points: Deeply colored and mature. Notes of fig, lemon curd and ripe melon. Rich, buttery and mature. With air the fruit becomes much more tropical in nature, with hints of ripe banana. (274 views) | | Tasted by AllRed on 1/12/2019 & rated 89 points: $25 off the club's list replacing the oxidized Saint Aubin. Notes of apple, coconut and banana with subtle oak undertones. The oak is a bit more prominent on the palate, lending a good bit of toast, but there's nice fruit to balance it out. 89+ for me, 90-91 for Domino. Creamy on the body with lovely richness yet bright acid for balance keeps the wine together. Lovely pears and baked apple, dusted with nougat, honeycomb, almond and vanilla. Smooth and silky finish. A richer style but stays bright and offers a good dose of complexity. (2021 views) | | Tasted by Box57 on 6/28/2015: PAL Ranking: 1 (1883 views) | | Tasted by dsdiii on 4/14/2015 & rated 80 points: Loads of mineralogy, fairly oaky, not much fruit. (1913 views) | | Tasted by RobertDwyer on 3/2/2015 & rated 89 points: Brilliant light golden color with hints of green color around the edges. Attractive ripe pear, vanilla, and golden delicious apple on the nose. This flavor profile conveys on the palate with a hint of herbaceousness on the backend. Medium length finish. A well-made wine with attractive aromatics and flavor profile. Better on the nose than the palate. Sample for review. (2279 views) | | Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 2/11/2015 & rated 89 points: Nose shows bright green apples, white flowers, peaches, mix in some honey butter and saline. On the palate, this is crisp and clean Chard with green apples and melons, white peach, along with floral notes. Nougat, whipped honey and almond flavors add richer elements, but it’s still a brisk and bright wine. Finishes with notes of orange rind and oyster shell. Pure Russian River goodness with an elegant twist. Aged nine months in 22% new French oak. (801 views) | | Tasted by Rscholtz on 11/5/2014 & rated 88 points: Tropical, with mango, papaya, toffee, and pineapple. Very buttery, but a good bit of acid is present. A little disjointed on the finish. (703 views) |

| J Vineyards & Winery Producer Website At 25 years of age, Judy Jordan knew she wanted to create an all-American sparkling wine company and handcraft some of the finest, if not the finest, sparkling wine in California. Her journey took her to Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley where she and her team masterfully crafted an elegant sparkling wine collection that was met with a passionately loyal following.
Judy was inspired by Mother Nature's bounty of microclimates laced throughout J's 9 Russian River estate vineyards, and recognized the ability to also craft remarkable varietal wines. When people told her it was "impossible" for a sparkling wine house to make great varietal wine, it further fueled her competitive nature to bring the ultimate wine experience to life.
With a commitment to innovation and a passion for wine, today we are proud to produce award-winning sparkling wines as well as highly lauded varietal still wines.
J Vineyards & Winery has built a 26-year legacy of making wines to inspire, and we;ve really only just begun.
We welcome guests everyday 11AM-5PM: 11447 Old Redwood Highway Healdsburg, CA in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley.

- WINE LABEL FAQS: A QUICK SUMMARY OF LABEL DESIGNATION RULES" by David E. StollUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino CountyRussian River Valley Russian River Valley Winegrowers Association | Wikipedia |
