(1568 views) | | Tasted by Bam_Man on 6/12/2016 & rated 88 points: Consistent with my prior note from October, 2015. Very rich and plush for a CdR. More like a "modern" Chateauneuf du Pape in weight and texture. There's plenty of juicy, delicious plum and dark currant fruit here, with good depth and intensity. A pretty violet note creeps in on the medium finish. Its firm tannins have softened noticeably since last time. A bit one-dimensional, but quite enjoyable. 50+5+11+15+7=88 (1867 views) | | Tasted by Serge Birbrair on 2/17/2016: I liked it and will buy more, great QPR and low scores from the guys keep the prices down. Marvel for folks who drink wine and not points :) (2058 views) | | Tasted by Contresita on 2/3/2016 & rated 85 points: Medium body, notes of chocolate. Originally tried during December wine club at twisted vines. (1858 views) | | Tasted by fabriciofcmiranda on 11/22/2015 & rated 60 points: Average day-to-day wine. There are better wines in this same price range. (1953 views) | | Tasted by bajayngo on 11/4/2015: A little more green that prior vintages but the similar framework of earth, tart berries, sagebrush, potting soil and herbs. (880 views) | | Tasted by Bam_Man on 10/5/2015 & rated 89 points: A dark, semi-opaque crimson in color. Very rich and intensely focused, there's wonderful depth to its tangy plum and boysenberry fruit. Shows a nice, chalky minerality on the long, lip-smacking finish. A bit rustic and surprisingly tannic, this should smooth out nicely over the next several years. Not nearly as polished, layered or complex as the fabulous 2010, but still a very good $15 Cotes du Rhone Villages. 50+5+11+16+7=89 (1032 views) | | Tasted by sweensomm on 7/6/2015 & rated 79 points: Not Impressed. Overly bretty that just doesn't get better. Usually opened up and over time the wine will evolve, not this one. Using the rest for cooking wine! I have two more, maybe it will get better? However, maybe a bad bottle? (811 views) |
| Domaine André Brunel producer websiteRed Rhone Blend Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.
A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
