Tasted by vandal16 on 8/19/2018 & rated 87 points: Tropical fruits. Heavy on the oak. (937 views)
Tasted by Papies on 3/21/2017 & rated 87 points: By the glass at the BA lounge. not a fresh bottle by any means.
The label over promises the wine underdelivers. Green fruits, citrus, mineral , light waxy , little oak. But it sort of doesn't come together and definitely lacks a bit of sparkle. It does have that old vine depth and concentration but lacks a lot more. An ok wine. 87 (1939 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 12/27/2016 & rated 86 points: Quite a substantial wine, full-bodied (14% ABV), rich and vinous style, oily texture, lacks precision and definition and there is considerable heat on the finish. Some people may like it more than I do, this is not my type. In the BA lounge, Heathrow T5, London, UK. (2407 views)
Tasted by ManhattanBeach on 12/15/2016 & rated 89 points: By the glass in the BA First Class lounge. Melon, peach and apricot predominate, some honeyed cream on the finish, touch of peachpit bitterness to tighten it up, long. (1909 views)
Tasted by TannicBeast on 6/5/2016 & rated 88 points: Tasted blind. Clear, medium (+) yellow with hues of gold in color. The nose is clean, medium (+) in intensity, with aromas of ripe apple, lemon, apricot, peach, herbs (celery), ginger root, and smoke. The nose is developing. The palate is dry, with some residual sugar. This is balanced nicely by the medium (+) acidity but somewhat burdened by the medium (+) to high alcohol (14.0%). The palate is consistent with the nose, but also exhibits some honey, cream, and an slightly bitter minerality on the finish. This is a medium (+) bodied wine with medium (+) flavor intensity and a medium length finish. It is drinking well now and is not likely to improve considerably with further aging. (2051 views)
Tasted by kingkanu on 5/4/2016 & rated 88 points: Rich and oily in the mouth, ripe stone fruits and zingy acidity, maybe a little heat on the finish which is otherwise lovely and long with lots of interest. Maybe a bit over done for my tastes, plenty of material here to age for a bit. (1720 views)
Tasted by Barolo Drunkard on 4/14/2016 & rated 89 points: Big and bold. Good weight on the palate, with nice tropical fruit galore. Not too heavy though; acidity gives enough liveliness.
Still feels slightly out of balance; alcohol hits quite hard, and oak is overpowering.
Maybe some bottle age will smooth the rough edges.. (870 views)
Tasted by Avicenne on 12/8/2015 & rated 87 points: Dans mes souvenirs, j'avais adoré le 2013.
Jaune doré. Nez nouveau monde, vanillé, poire jaune. Gros soleil humide.
Bouche style pêche en canne, modérément grasse, extraite, citron confit.
Longueur raisonnable.
Constat sur le Chenin blanc: j'ai découvert mieux en Loire depuis, plus raffiné pour la même facture. Néanmoins, c'est un bon Chenin blanc du nouveau monde et mérite sa place pour la découverte. RQP correct.

Tasted by SAND on 7/10/2015: Nose: Peach, pear, melon and orange blossom. Didn't find much of the spontaneous yeast stinkiness Jancis Robinson found in January although after some airing small traces of it start to come and go.
Taste & palate: Rich, fruity in a rounded, supple style. There's quite a lot of acidity and (when you look for it) a noticeable fruit stone bitterness but they are both balanced out very well by the richness and creaminess.
Interesting wine, quite rich, needs time to open up. Will be interesting to see how this develops with age.

Bellingham Chenin Blanc The Bernard Series Old Vine

Winemaker Notes:
The grapes for this distinctive Chenin Blanc are hand-picked from characterful and genuinely unique old bush vines specifically blended from Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Darling. It features vibrant tropical fruit flavours with hints of honey and oak spice on the finish.
