Tremendously impactful and pure, and as supreme as Syrah gets. Ripe, black and purple fruit, pencil shavings, and myrrh aromas feature spicy, brambly undertones. Dense, concentrated, and powerful, with layers, textures, and flavors that just don’t quit. But it's the incredible balance and luminosity that stand out for such a voluptuous and tenacious wine. It comes across perfectly composed, refined, and in complete control. A shot of triple espresso dominates the long and shapely finish. An absolute knockout. Note that some producers in the Northern Rhone distinguish between simply Syrah and "Serine", the latter described as ‘an ancient clone of Syrah, the berries of which are more oval-shaped and less deeply pigmented than Syrah’ by producer Tardieu-Laurent.
