Tasted by sortiarius on 12/5/2018 & rated 90 points: Yes there's an abundance of fruit sweetness and oaky vanillin but despite this a very quaffable wine with an acceptable level of acidity to balance some of the sweetness out. Semi long simple but pleasant finish. Good value for money and well suited for the old fashioned Danish kitchen. (1831 views)
Tasted by bigdog356c on 3/30/2018 & rated 79 points: Berry and earthy smooth finish (2063 views)
Tasted by packinmn on 1/12/2018 & rated 89 points: High QPR. Very drinkable with some complexity not always seen at this price. (2131 views)
Tasted by Dmiller3 on 11/23/2016 & rated 90 points: Excellent. Drinking really well. Smooth and silky. (3625 views)
Tasted by bobadopolis on 11/11/2016 & rated 89 points: Got this for $20 on sale. I think you'd be hard pressed to find another Cali cab at this caliber for $20 or less. Value here is really quite impressive. (3486 views)
Tasted by deetz on 11/3/2016 & rated 89 points: Nose consistent with last tasting, but left a better impression overall. The end felt just a bit more put together than when I last had it. (2529 views)
Tasted by wine-lvr on 10/17/2016 & rated 86 points: not bad but not as good as earthquakes Zinfandel. A little too much cherry and raspberry put it a little off balance but other than that there were notes of chocolate and licorice to counter it. Full bodied and smooth texture. Bottom line i would not buy again... i've had better $24 wines, including their Zin (2300 views)
Tasted by Mark V on 10/16/2016 & rated 87 points: Good cab for the price point (2148 views)
Tasted by lizjohnson on 10/8/2016 & rated 90 points: I'm not typically a huge cab fan (can be too tannic for me), but I absolutely loved this wine. Dominant notes of chocolate and dark fruit, plus some notes of graham cracker were present on the nose. Was a bit tannic, but tannins were integrated well into the experience and fet more like a "wow" than an "ow." (1204 views)
Tasted by deetz on 10/7/2016 & rated 87 points: This wine drinks more like an opulent, over-the-top Zinfandel like Turley than it does a Cabernet. Dense aromas of baked fruit, blueberry pie, smores, vanilla ice cream. Palate has firm but fine tannins, with a medium plus finish. however, it's far too sweet for my taste. I guess it plays into the dessert-filled nose but it's a bit too much, even for me. It's definitely interesting, but it feels like it's trying a bit too hard to make an impression. (1116 views)
Tasted by bernie.boehnlein@gmail.com on 10/2/2016 & rated 88 points: Very full bodied. Fruit forward, rich color and not small, a nice cab for the price. decanted for 40 minutes and it was ready. (1049 views)
Tasted by Lulu2 on 9/30/2016 & rated 87 points: Very nice and with fun friends!!:) (1314 views)
Tasted by Heatherahrendt on 8/11/2016: Has a little bit of spice. (1321 views)
Tasted by stags22 on 6/30/2016 & rated 86 points: Thick dark chocolate and dark fruit, a little too much for me. Creates too sour of a taste in my opinion. I'm sure this works for others, just not my thing. The dope label was the highlight for me. (1426 views)
Tasted by mzmijewski on 6/12/2016 & rated 90 points: Lots of cherry flavor, deep rich purple color, nice tannins, appropriate acid. Well balanced. (1572 views)
Tasted by redbrix on 5/29/2016 & rated 89 points: Deep dark and opaque purple in color. Deep nose of blackberry, tobacco, and cherry. Full mouth feel, round and velvety. Dry and slightly tannic with flavors of cherry. Good wine, not sure if it is worthy of $25. (1612 views)
Tasted by laxman on 5/21/2016 & rated 91 points: Very good and one the best values I have had in 2013 Cali cab (this is from Lodi). Gorgeous deep fruit, gentle acidity and soft chewy tannins (not the kind that distract from enjoyment of the wine). Gosh, this was just pure enjoyment and reminded me of what Cali cab can be. I will put a few of these down. This is a winner. (1956 views)
Tasted by cj.haaland on 5/1/2016 & rated 90 points: Beautiful Cab... Once it finally opened up. (About 2-3 hours for us)
Cherry notes with a slightly bitter finish that diminished as it opened. Held up well for a very drinkable 2nd day. (1518 views)
Tasted by corkscrews on 4/20/2016 & rated 89 points: A nose of bold dark fruits and spice, dark purple grant in color. A full bodied Cab, with blackberry, cassis, licorice and spices on finish. Needs a decant, still has some heat. www.winelx.com (1316 views)
Tasted by Euell Gophar on 4/18/2016 & rated 85 points: Surprisingly heavy handed for a Cabernet. Higher alcohol perhaps? Did not mellow after two days. (1314 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 4/4/2016 & rated 85 points: Saturated very dark red violet color; lifted, baked berry, berry preserves, caramel, black raspberry nose; soft entry, berry syrup, ripe black fruit, black cherry palate with lowish acidity and soft tannins; ready now and should go 2-3 years; medium-plus finish (15% alcohol; 15 months in French oak) (354 views)
Tasted by Shaun Mondavi on 3/4/2016 & rated 80 points: Opaque purple, almost black, nose of blueberry, blackberry preserve, bramble, vanilla, oak, cassis. Chewy tannic blackberry mouth. Too sweet and rich for me. Not bad for a glass or two during the week but did not refine at all with a long decant which leads me to believe its heavily engineered. Richness became nauseating after a while. (1550 views)
Tasted by bobadopolis on 2/27/2016 & rated 90 points: Great every day Cab. Definitely surpassed my expectations. Decanted this for about 2 hours. QPR here is really pretty ridiculous. (1297 views)
Tasted by C.Guzman on 2/12/2016 & rated 89 points: It's a big red meaning it tastes much better after aeration and with food. (1369 views)
Tasted by JenEm on 1/22/2016 & rated 90 points: Dried earth with cherry, and a bit of cinnamon on the nose. Palate is dried cherries, earth and a bit of a bright floral note on the finish. Smooth with some tannin on the finish. Really nice, and actually... case worthy. (1431 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
