Amazing wine for the price point. Perfect summer patio sipper.
Monte Cristo Edmundo (1154 views) | | Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 1/27/2016 & rated 88 points: Light gold color. Aromas of green and yellow apples, some richer apricot and honeyed notes, a hint of toasted almond but also some bright floral components. Fresh but full of chunky fruit, a nice mix of cantaloupe, kiwi and green apple, topped with some floral tea, honey and toasted almond. But there’s also a refreshing sense of chalk and minerals. Not super complicated but plenty tasty. More character than a ton of Chards in this price point from most regions. It’s not easy finding Chardonnay for $15 with some compelling qualities, but this one is solid for my palate. (1147 views) | | Tasted by AllRed on 1/23/2016 & rated 89 points: 4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Rick's & Cris'): Opens with notes of tropical fruit- coconut and banana- that never fully dissipate but there are streaks of orchard fruit coming through. The orchard fruit follows on the palate with an interesting stony minerality on the finish. Nice. Guessed Chardonnay and was surprised to see this was from S. Africa. (1565 views) | | Tasted by rustyRudy on 5/28/2015 & rated 89 points: Large tasting pour at a South African tasting. Light yellow. Apple, tart, minimal oak with decent depth. Nicely done for the price point. (932 views) |
