It is off-dry, with a rich mouthfeel, with a flavour of dried peaches. Acidity is low , but there is a final twist of dry spiciness , leading into a finish of sweet butterscotch. Drink up over the next two years. The wine suddenly took on a darker yellow and become impressively aromatic, sweetly spicy, pleasantly textured, and surprisingly acidic. The moral to take to heart is to patiently give a wine that started out tasting poorly the opportunity to become enjoyable by retasting it for days later. There is a touch of bitterness on the nose (yes, I know that is impossible but that is the impression it gives). It's surprisingly juicy and controlled on the palate, again very floral with a little mid - palate burr. medium plus length. I'd this is moving the Alsatian Gewurztraminer paradigm to a more ethereal plain. or. It's just a bit lightweight. take your pick. (1993 views) |
