Tasted by Benedikt on 11/17/2010 & rated 74 points: Dry, weak, not worth the money. (1799 views)
Tasted by danseng on 3/28/2009: Very nice wine for the normal $12 price tag, but getting this on closeout for $3 was probably the best deal of my life. Better than the '05 right now in my opinion. Great fruit, a bit of earthiness and just a fabulous value. (1900 views)
Tasted by 16% on 2/5/2008 & rated 87 points: Dark reds in the glass. Mint and pepper on nose. Raisin and black fruits on the palate. (2202 views)
Tasted by Ben Andersen on 1/18/2007: $14.99 retail, before discount. Fairly expressive nose of smoked meat and dark fruit. On the palate, smoke, tobacco, light charcoal, and dar fruit. Nice balance. This is really gutsy stuff. Very impressive for the money. Excellent value, IMO. (2764 views)
Tasted by elfez on 8/10/2006 & rated 86 points: Fairly big. Some nice licorice notes. Good value, at $10. (2388 views)

Red Rhone Blend

Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines
On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.

A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
