Tasted by JS1056 on 3/22/2018 & rated 92 points: Stonestreet Dinner with Craig Ellick (1700 Degrees): Just a great wine. Rich texture wrapped around a minerality and citrus, green apple. (1020 views)
Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 11/19/2016 & rated 91 points: Blind Cali Whites: Very bright yellow with a hint of green. Aromas burst open with lemon, lime, kiwi, sea shells, hay and cut flower stems. Zippy acidity combines with some generous texture, this is wonderfully balanced. Bright lemon, kiwi and ruby red grapefruit play nicely with these notes of dandelion, flower stems, and there's a pervasive sense of minerals and rocky stream. Long, intense finish with chalky mineral notes. Bracing yet gorgeous Sauvignon Blanc. 70/30 stainless steel and old foudre fermentation, 13.5% alcohol. (1571 views)
Tasted by Baron Slick on 8/26/2016 & rated 92 points: This has class and personality in reserve. Aromas of lychees, gooseberries, citrus, and stonefruit abound. In the mouth it's crisp and juicy, yet elegantly dry, with a spine that's as straight as an arrow. Plenty of citrus acidity and tensile minerality keeps it refreshing. Long finish. Highly recommended. (1374 views)
Tasted by Glenn92 on 8/9/2016 & rated 91 points: Pretty green tinge in the glass
Light Grapefruit, green apple, and hints of vanilla on the nose
Crisp light and tangy the first sip
Nice fruit up front ending with honey dew melon and honey suckle ending. Acidic but balanced 3/4 through the palate it lightens up and come back with the honeydew combination. Love the lingering finish. (1270 views)

1989, Jess Jackson established Stonestreet Winery in the southern part of the Alexander Valley AVA. In 1995, Jackson purchased Alexander Mountain Estate and merged the two properties. Stonestreet now specializes in mountain wines.

Varietal Character

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
