Tasted by brianofthevine on 4/2/2023 & rated 94 points: Not sure why this is a "Cult" wine but either way at 9 years of age it is very approachable. Jammy up front fruit profile of blackberry, black cherry, and black raspberry. Velvety notes of baking spice and mocha with subtle tobacco and black pepper on the mid-palate. Supple tannins and nice long finish. Drinking very well now over the next several years. (673 views)
Tasted by Asmiller on 11/21/2021 & rated 92 points: Great wine!!! Love Beau Vigne! (1287 views)
Tasted by shellylowen on 7/30/2021 & rated 94 points: Mouth coating blackberry, long slightly peppery finish (1337 views)
Tasted by Banks5 on 2/25/2021 & rated 93 points: This is a wonderful expression of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Dark Cherry red color to the edge.
Black and red cherry, baking spice, tobacco, mushroom, and a hint of black pepper on the nose.
Black and Red cherry hit the front palate. Equal balance of acid and alchohol gives a long lasting finish where the spice and Black pepper tones end their dance.
Wonderful wine.
I will keep a few bottles in the cellar.

Tasted by goonar182 on 2/24/2020 & rated 95 points: Wow good nose- tannins smoothed out and still nice fruit. Great experience! (2394 views)
Tasted by mvande21 on 2/17/2020 & rated 94 points: Purple. Aromatic nose with three hour decant. Black fruits. Full bodied and lush with a bit of alcoholic bite. Integrated tannins and long finish. A slight bit fruity for the filets it was paired with. (1778 views)
Tasted by dlcass on 3/9/2018 & rated 93 points: Very smooth and integrated. I didn't detect any depth or interest, but lovely balance and texture. (2796 views)
Tasted by Shay.Aldriedge on 2/12/2018 & rated 95 points: Not quite pop and pour, but close. Another one of those ‘14s that epitomes the words “plush”. The fruits are so soft and pronounced...black and blue fruit, decadent milk chocolate, licorice and sweet oak. Obviously young on the palate but drinking quite well after an hour or so of being open. Lovely texture. Blueberry compote, plum, and lots of back fruit. This is one of those wines that obviously benefits from time, but probably drinks better young than with substantial age. (2450 views)
Tasted by iamandyc on 12/4/2017 & rated 96 points: Wow - with about four hours of decanting this wine was singing. Following notes reflect the wine after four hours (rough around the edges right out of the bottle). This is a big but not bruising Napa cab. This was a big bodied, velvety wine that integrated the sizable tannin, alcohol and acidity beautifully. The dark fruit was very luscious (fruitiness softened over time). Long finish with lots of chocolate and some earthiness. If you're into modern Napa cabs, it will make you smile. (2784 views)
Tasted by rachelkalous on 8/5/2017 & rated 97 points: Simply amazing!!!!!! (2650 views)
Tasted by #1Winelover on 1/21/2017 & rated 92 points: An interesting Beau Vigne as it was more dissimilar to their style than similar. Nice purple coloring, high alcohol, some fruit. This was pretty light and feminine and the finish was short. I hope this wine matures but I'm not sure that it will. In summary, there was nothing good or bad with this wine and Beau Vigne is usually has an in-your-face style. (3960 views)
Tasted by Shaun Mondavi on 11/24/2016 & rated 93 points: Dark purple robe, nice initial nose of blackberry and cassis. Pretty big wine with lots of alcohol, softened a tiny bit after a couple hours in the decanter but needs time to integrate. I think it will be a solid 95 points in a few years. (2304 views)

Beau Vigne

Producer website

Ed and Trish Snider are the owners of Beau Vigne. Born and raised in the Napa Valley, Ed was the head football coach for St. Helena High School located in the heart of the Napa Valley. Among the young men he coached at St. Helena, was the winemaker for Beau Vigne, Kirk Venge. He is a crafty winemaker who has been around vineyards and wineries his entire life. His father, Nils Venge, is an icon in the wine world who always had his son, Kirk, either in a winery or in a vineyard. To Kirk’s credit, he has polished his own skill set and reputation as one of the finest wine makers in the Napa Valley. Beau Vigne is very excited about its relationship with Kirk.

The Sniders bought the property in 2002 and named the ranch Stags Ridge Vineyard, a vista overlooking Stags Leap. Stags Ridge is now over eight acres of Cabernet, clone 337 and one acre of Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot (Trish's Garden). Stags Ridge Vineyard sits at about 1,350 feet altitude in the Atlas Peak appellation on the eastern edge of Napa. Stag’s Ridge has become known as a very unique vineyard recognized in the valley as a very special place.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
