Tasted by scorbett on 1/21/2024: Either corked or pre-moxed. I'm leaning toward corked, having no prior experience with this producer.

From the little I can tell, bruised apple and caramel on top of week-old garbage. Very hard to drink. (171 views)
Tasted by bram_epicurien on 8/31/2022 & rated 91 points: Brought my own bottle to burnt ends in singapore. Medium golden color. Beautiful nose with white roses, pineapple, lemon, honey, beewax, hay, wet stones. Med acidity, med body, med flavor intensity, med alcohol, Med finish. Nice fullfilling mouth of creaminess, pineapple, lemon, apple, with salinity. Nose a bit more opulent than the mouth. Very nice. However time to drink up now. (330 views)
Tasted by Marc on 9/10/2017 & rated 93 points: Dinner to celebrate Christine's 70th (Trelissick Crescent, Ngaio, Wellington, New Zealand): This wine proved to be the finest Condrieu I have drunk for a number of years. Absolutely true to its terroir and varietal. Opulent, but focused. Juicy white peach and floral elements abound. Luscious finish. There is some oak influence to this wine, but the success of the bottle rests squarely on its beautiful fruit expression. Reminiscent of the old Andre Perret Condrieus I drank with great pleasure in the 1990s.... (1258 views)
Tasted by Ianthemac on 3/11/2017 & rated 91 points: Lovely stuff. Refined with a gorgeous floral nose. Long finish - pears, peach and apricot to the fore. (883 views)
Tasted by JimmyBubbles on 1/4/2017: Madera llenandolo todo. Habrá que esperar para ver por donde van los tiros. Se adivina algo de mineralidad que da esperanzas aunq la viogner brilla por sus ausencia ahora mismo. Cremoso, algo plano, no tiene mala profundidad. Una incognita. (1119 views)
Tasted by MNig on 11/16/2016 & rated 91 points: Blindverkostung mit Freunden. 91+

Blind tasting with friends. #12 A big sulfuric curtain hung over the glass, but after having managed to get past that, there was a kaleidoscope of primary fruit awaiting me. Notes of mushy, yellow apples, pears, pineapples, lemon balm, starfruit, yellow apricots, dragon fruit, quince, hay and some white nougat. The palate is full-bodied, with medium-strong acid and a lot of extract. Again, lemon balm on the palate, which meets with an array of exotic fruits and sweetish spices, ending with a long aftertaste. Quite extroverted, yet somewhat less complex than the Clos des Papes blanc. 91+ (1192 views)
Tasted by Loren Sonkin on 4/19/2016 & rated 91 points: Hdr Closing Tasting: Great nose. Lovely. Floral nose with ripe orange rind. Nice acidity. Oily texture. Slight heat on the long finish. Just a really pretty wine but the nose is the star. (2118 views)

Northern Rhône

Guide to the wines and appellations of the Northern Rhone Valley -

The Rhône Valley/Le Vins de la Vallée du Rhône (Comité Interprofession des vins AOC Côtes et vallée du Rhône)

Regional History:
Phocaean Greeks established viticulture in the Rhone as far back as 600 BC, but until the 14th century the wines were not seen outside the region. The establishment of the Avignonese Papacy (1305-1377) brought fame to the region's wine-so much so that their Burgundian neighbors to the north banned wines from the Rhone in 1446, a measure that effectively cut off trade with England and other Northern European markets for over 200 years. Stretching southward from Lyon to just south of Avignon, the Rhone produces a wide variety of wines, with the appellations north of Valence producing the least (in volume), and the towns south of Montelimar producing prodigious amounts. As in other regions, the most interesting wines come from small farms. Saint-Joseph, in the northern Rhone, extends for some distance between Condrieu in the north to Saint-Peray in the south. The reds are made from Syrah and the rare whites from Marsanne and Roussanne, and Viognier.
