Tasted by aegerter on 3/19/2017 & rated 94 points: Open opening it felt too acidic and I was a bit underwhelmed and put it in the fridge. The following day I retested with low expectations which where far exceeded. It opened up beautifully and displays a wonderful roundness and balance. The bouquet offers up elderberry and apricot, while the palate delivers nicely concentrated experience of white currant, melon and wet stone in perfect harmony. (3692 views)
Tasted by Collector1855 on 11/19/2016 & rated 91 points: Napa Valley Master Class with Robert Parker; 11/10/2016-11/20/2016 (Napa Valley): Dinner at Harlan estate. Fruity nose with lemon, minerals and a touch of grass. Well balanced palate. Medium complexity. (4937 views)
Tasted by bacchuszuo on 8/11/2016 & rated 94 points: Buttery and sesame oak wrapped around waves of grilled pineapple and cooked mango, very tropical but structured, balanced with acidity. Not yet super-defined but very pleasurable to drink. Winner against Silex 2012 and Blanc de Lynch Badges 2014. (3093 views)
Tasted by Phitz on 3/8/2016 & rated 93 points: This is a nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Different lots are fermented in concrete eggs, stainless, and possibly (?) barrique. They're blended together. This is a note for the 2014 wine, consumed in March of 2016. The wine, when first released, has a creamy, sweet softness that seems to overlay the sauv blanc characteristics. This wine, at this age, is a high-end Napa Sauv Blanc/etc. It lacks the tartness/gooseberriness of some of the Napa Sauvignon Blancs and certainly the NZ Sauvignon Blancs. I don't think that Sauvignon Blanc can make a wine much over the low 90's, so this is a good and perhaps great wine. (RMP rated one 97 point Sancerre, 3 96's, a dozen 95's, a few dozen 94's and then it's 93 on down.) (3694 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
