| Community Tasting Notes (average 89.2 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 19 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by RichD2 on 12/13/2022 & rated 93 points: Definitely shows its age in its golden color, and almond aromas, but still has some peachy fruit and a decent acidity. Easy to drink now, but would suggest waiting much longer. (252 views) | | Tasted by Willi Vinotti on 6/5/2021 & rated 91 points: I tend to converge with Baron on this. If you look at it without bench-marking against more mineraly structured burgundies, this actually is amazing in dense fruity and honeyed notes. It accompanied well seafood as well as Asian food, really nice effort! A really nice tribute to American wine making. Chapeau. And no burgundy type premox. (419 views) | | Tasted by Baron Slick on 6/18/2018 & rated 91 points: Expressive and pure in style, this offers honeydew, orchard and blossom fruit aromas floating above wisps of toast and vanilla. Full bodied, dense, and layered on the palate, with tiers of bright fruit and acidity that lend intensity and tension to the silky, almost honeyed texture. Spicy oak and lemon pith define the long, complex finish. (889 views) | | Tasted by Willi Vinotti on 3/18/2018 & rated 88 points: Well, good Chardonnay, very pleasant and seductive, fruit forward and nice minerality. Though a bit too much and a bit disbalanced with a strong attack and quite a short finish. It though remains an excellent wine. (898 views) | | Tasted by CarpeDiem! on 3/18/2018 & rated 89 points: Expressive nose, loaded with exotic fruit, peach, melon, vanilla, honey, pierre de feux, very "Bourgogne". Generous in the mouth, built on ripe mango, maracuja, pineapple, counterbalanced by honey, vanilla, caramel in the right proportion. Have this enjoyable wine with seafood. Better: on a sunny terrace, without anything else. No regrets.. well..expect your guests to ask for the next bottle soon. (1026 views) | | Tasted by grapenomad on 3/15/2018 & rated 84 points: Beautiful golden in the glass. Heavily “oaked“ on the nose and palate with notes of ripe banana, mango, vanilla and yeast. Love the creaminess of this wine, but the acidity and alcohol don’t seem to pair with each other very good. It’s almost like they’re bouncing against each other all the time. Dry, medium finish with some melon and yellow apples coming in. Was expecting more from this tbh. (768 views) | | Tasted by ecola on 2/14/2017 & rated 90 points: A little bit of oak comes through but the brightness of the fruit still shines. Medium body with a long finish. (1042 views) | | Tasted by dpolivy on 9/9/2016 & rated 91 points: Vindredi (California Chardonnay) (Bellevue, WA): Tasted blind. Warm and waxy nose. Rich and round, this is fuller bodied. Mouthwatering acid. Great QPR compared to the others in the flight! (969 views) |

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Napa / SonomaSONOMA: The Yorkville Highlands AVA, approved in 1998, is located in the southwestern corner of Mendocino County, between Sonoma County's Alexander Valley to the South and Mendocino County!s Anderson Valley to the North. The region is 25 miles long, roughly in the shape of rectangle and bisected by Highway 128 which runs the length of the AVA. The region!s terrain is hilly and forested, with elevations ranging from 1,078 to 2,442 feet above sea level. The distinguishing features of the Yorkville Highlands AVA are rocky soils with a high gravel content and the climate, which is cooler than Alexander Valley but warmer than Anderson Valley, and significantly cooler at night than the surrounding areas.CarnerosStraddles the southern ends of Napa & Sonoma Counties. |
