| Community Tasting Notes (average 87.3 pts. and median of 87 pts. in 13 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Rokitma on 3/13/2021 & rated 92 points: Great bottle of wine, really smooth... had fruity, almost floral vibe, unusual for a zinfandel. Was worried that I waited too long to drink it, but it aged well. (815 views) | | Tasted by Birkmeier on 8/9/2017 & rated 89 points: No way this is an 85. Great QPR (2284 views) | | Tasted by Man in Black on 12/7/2016: Deep purple colour. The nose shows medium+ intensity aromas of tomato leaf, chocolate, clove, cedar, ripe dark plums and dark cherries.
The wine is off-dry in the mouth with a medium- acidity. It has medium+ fine-grained tannins and a high well-integrated alcohol. It has pronounced intensity flavours and a long finish.
It is a good quality wine. The finish is very persistent and it has a juicy fruit concentration. However the balance is a mess, the acidity too low, the sweetness too high... the alcohol is well-integrated though. The nose is simple, is shows oaky aromas, but it looks like chips to me, overdone and not well-integrated.
Don't take this tasting note too seriously. I tasted the wine in a plastic glass in the motel. (2748 views) | | Tasted by Babik on 10/17/2016 & rated 85 points: Oak, black cherry nose. Dr Pepper palate. Some tannin, thick. Sweet finish. (2804 views) | | Tasted by losososjoe on 8/19/2016 & rated 90 points: For $10, can't beat this Zin/Syrah/Petite Syrah/Grenache. Buy it, drink it and enjoy. (2818 views) | | Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 7/2/2016 & rated 85 points: Fourth of July Weekend; 7/2/2016-7/4/2016: Medium ruby color. Jammy aromas of currants, plums and blackberries along with cola and coffee. Full and juicy with fleshy tannins and low acidity. A bold presence with saucy blueberry and jammy blackberries, backed up by cola, vanilla (lots of it) and caramel. High deliciousness factor for those with a Paso Robles sweet tooth predilection. 77% Zinfandel, 14% Syrah, 8% Petite Sirah, 1% Grenache. (2570 views) |
| Chronic Cellars Producer websiteUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Coasthttp://www.ccwinegrowers.org/links.html
