Tasted by aajder on 12/19/2016 & rated 88 points: Nice color. The nose shows aromas of citrus, toast, minerals and a hint of white flowers. This is light bodied on the palate with good concentration and good class. A bit soft. The medium plus length finish features a strong mineral element. (417 views)
Tasted by pkbowen on 10/17/2016 & rated 86 points: Honeymoon in the Finger Lakes; 10/17/2016-10/20/2016 (FLX, New York, USA): Tasted at the winery. Poured cold. Definite presence of cereal/bread flavors. Tart fruit present, but good clarity of apple flavor. Serviceable FLX methode Champenoise sparkling, but not terribly interesting. "Very good," 86/100. Chardonnay

The Chardonnay Grape

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.
