Community Tasting Notes (average 90.5 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 19 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by sergio19 on 7/9/2023 & rated 89 points: Just opened it is almost resigned, not dull, but without vigor. After almost eight years it needs quite a bit of "air" to recover.
So hints of ripe apricot, dehydrated orange, slight vanilla begin to appear.
In the mouth nice acidity, not very noble almost gruff that then after a few sips softens but not completely. Perhaps it has just passed its apogee.
On the nose after some more time the vanilla becomes more present along with salted butter scents. Still apricots and citrus marmalade. (414 views)
Tasted by tward on 6/26/2023 & rated 89 points: Very Good++. This was best on the second night, after sustained exposure to air. Opens with some reduction that is rather stubborn. Notably tight, but drinkable even on PnP. Lots of lemon, meyer lemon and a spritz of lime. Racy and taut. White flowers, subtle pear and apple and underripe tropical fruit.

Wait to try the next bottle until 2026.

Tasted by goodvitis.com on 5/24/2023 & rated 90 points: A bit underwhelming. Nose features sharp lemon zest and pith, crushed stone, honeysuckle, apricot, white flower. Medium bodied with tart acidity and a bit of textural grit, it needs air to find itself. Flavors include bright lemon juice, white peach, sweet vanilla, honeysuckle, pear, and a bit of buttered bread. It has a lot of good components but the tartness of the acidity takes away from them. I imagine the balance was better a few years ago, and it's hard to see this resolving itself with further aging. (551 views)
Tasted by Morrisson on 5/21/2023 & rated 90 points: J’apprécie toujours ce vin.
(960 views)
Tasted by andrei trolldeig on 6/6/2021 & rated 89 points: Acid trip
Not a laser sting, but a broad sitrus enamel piercing acidity. (954 views)
92+ (1215 views)
Tasted by grafstrb on 3/2/2020 & rated 93 points: -- popped and poured --
-- tasted non-blind over 2 – 3 hours --

NOSE: moderately expressive; green pear aroma with complicating notes of savory hay and a hint of buttered popcorn.

BODY: light maize color; medium-light bodied.

TASTE: whoa!! --- very high acidity; tart papaya; gentle note of green apple pulp; woodsy spice (cinnamon-scented candle); light mineral; very dry; medium to medium+ concentration of flavor; 12.5% alc. not noticeable; seems to be holding back somewhat right now --- I could see this really taking-off sometime over the next 10 to 15 years. I love this, but it will be too acidic for some folks.

Tasted by vintage_whine on 9/17/2019: Oak perfectly married to Chenin, taught, mineral driven and dry. No oxidation to perfectly fresh fruit, no sign of a hot vintage, other than the power of the wine. (1628 views)
Tasted by Marc C on 11/17/2018 & rated 92 points: Very beautiful aromatic on white fruits (pear) and fresher, vegetal notes. Dynamic palate, high acidity well balanced by the material. Very long persistence, with salivating sensations.

Very good!

Tasted by Nojomoschwa on 5/1/2018 & rated 92 points: I love his wines – they are so mouth-coating, penetrating and complex. This did not disappoint. (2119 views)
Tasted by drwine2001 on 8/12/2017: Chenin Blanc Flight-Mostly Loire (SF Wine Trading Company): Some flowers and ripe pear. Full bodied, well integrated soil, more apple than quince in the mouth, clean, powerful, long, and youthful. The best wine of the tasting by far. Excellent and very complete. (2688 views)
Tasted by joraesque on 7/28/2017 & rated 89 points: Bone-dry with good acid. 89-90+ (1917 views)
Tasted by ove_stammrud on 6/14/2017: Skarp, steinete, gul frukt, smørblomst, toast og vanilje hint. Uppercut syre, moden sitrus, høy intensitet. (1820 views)
