Tasted by BGK810 on 12/29/2021 & rated 90 points: Very good, everyday red. Red fruits, good acidity, and nicely oaked. Medium length finish. Still has several years life. (819 views)
Tasted by camben on 12/29/2021: Such a delicious creation
Perfect
I’m not saying this is a crazy$ bottle
But
Put it in a blind tasting with air (887 views)
Tasted by curtr on 3/23/2021 & rated 88 points: Followed over 1 hour. A bit lean and wasn't showing much. I would recommend a 2 hour decant. (1228 views)
Tasted by Back that glass up on 1/16/2021 & rated 88 points: Enjoyable blend. A little tart on the end. Easy to pair. Minerals and berry complex though the finish leaves something to be desired. (1338 views)
Tasted by cubswinws on 8/27/2020 & rated 91 points: Delightful wine that paired perfectly with shrimp stir-fry. (1910 views)
Tasted by camben on 7/26/2020: Great with roast chicken. A bit more tight than previous vintages. Less strawberry more dark fruit.
Good stuff (1025 views)
Tasted by boredo on 7/19/2020: Medium bodied with notes of red currant, plum, baking spice, iron, wet stone minerality with mouthwatering acidity, and mild, chalky tannins on the medium-long finish. (1087 views)
 Tasted by pren on 7/17/2020 & rated 89 points: 第一天,oak突出。第二天,气味92 分,age的subtle老酒的气味,阶进aged pinot。口中,差不少,不和谐。 (883 views)
Tasted by Dlwg1 on 3/4/2020 & rated 86 points: Very thin with little to no discernible flavor. Might be better with heavy fatty foods but definitely not a relaxing evening bottle. (640 views)
Tasted by robopanda on 12/26/2019 & rated 87 points: Probably drank too young, harsh. Not well balanced (761 views)
Tasted by srh on 11/30/2019: CA Cabernets & Blends [5-Napa & 1-Paso] (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): “52% C.S., 26% Merlot, 12% Malbec, 8% Syrah, & 2% P.V., harvested 9/14 – 10/11/16, with the ff’ing sourcing: 89% Napa Valley, 10% Russian River, & 1% combined from Sonoma County, North Coast, & Mendocino; Malolactic fermentation is completed in barrel, & the blend is assembled early so it is ‘elevated’ as the finished wine. Our 2016 Claret rested on its lees 12 mos in FR & AM oak barrels, only 13% new, with monthly bâtonnage to coat the tannins, producing a luscious, cushioned mouthfeel. This wine was lightly fined with egg whites & bottled without filtration in Feb ‘18. 4,927 cases produced & released Sept ’18.”

N: Slightly closed; ATTRACTIVE melding of berries, flowers, earth, toast, & pyrazines

P: LM body; Very NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which stays in contact with the init frt as it seamlessly transitions into a LONG, BALANCED finish with an already elegant tangy/swtness to the dusty tannins. Approachable now with food, IF one can accept the current early/mid-P. Otherwise, cellar through '21, then making its 10th. 14.5% ABV; My EXC. 92 pts & "Editors' Choice" WE (4/1/19) @ $42, 91 WA (Brooks, 9/'19), 90 Dunnuck (6/14/19), & 89 Vinous (Galloni, 5/1/19). [Check with this vendor if interested in their competitive price.] (1013 views)
Tasted by GTFreek on 9/17/2019: From younger vines but their premium vineyards. Mostly Bordeaux varietals, 52% Cab, 26% Merlot, then 8% Syrah, Petit Verdot, Malbec in there. Medium nose shows easy red/black fruit, light cedar, black plums, cocoa. Palate matches with smooth fruit, espresso, dark chocolate, vanilla bean, blackberry. Structure shows medium plus tannins that are smooth, medium plus body, smooth style overall. Nice QPR given where CA prices are heading, but nothing super remarkable about it. (1019 views)
Tasted by oldwines on 3/4/2019 & rated 90 points: Tasted at the Skurnik Grand Portfolio Tasting in NYC. Poured by David Ramey. Quite light in body and texture for a Bordeaux blend with Syrah. Low tannin, Medium+ acidity. Smooth but bright with mixed dark berry fruit and some spice. Pleasant now but not a keeper. (1381 views)
Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 11/19/2018 & rated 90 points: Deep ruby color. I love the nose, a mix of juicy, bright fruit (cherries, cranberries, currant) along with anise, tilled soil and pine. Full-bodied but velvety, this wine is smooth and approachable but balanced with vibrant acidity. Nice depth to the red and black cherries, spiced cranberry sauce flavors, along with sweet spice, lots of floral and earthy tones. Deep but lots of brightness and spicy elements. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with 26% Merlot, 12% Malbec, 8% Syrah and 20% Petit Verdot aged 12 months in 13% new French and American oak. (1157 views)

Red Bordeaux Blend

Red Bordeaux is generally made from a blend of grapes. Permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and rarely Carménère.Today Carménère is rarely used, with Château Clerc Milon, a fifth growth Bordeaux, being one of the few to still retain Carménère vines. As of July 2019, Bordeaux wineries authorized the use of four new red grapes to combat temperature increases in Bordeaux. These newly approved grapes are Marselan, Touriga Nacional, Castets, and Arinarnoa.

Wineries all over the world aspire to making wines in a Bordeaux style. In 1988, a group of American vintners formed The Meritage Association to identify wines made in this way. Although most Meritage wines come from California, there are members of the Meritage Association in 18 states and five other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Israel, and Mexico.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson

North Coast

The North Coast American Viticultural Area (AVA) in California, covering more than three million acres, includes Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake counties, and portions of Marin and Solano counties. (see The Wine Institute for more information)
