| Community Tasting Notes (average 90 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 2 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by fc1910 on 11/9/2017: Allez Les Bleu (Mövenpick retail store, Hamburg): Some grainy tannin, mineralic driven but on the other too fullbodied, fine grip, high ABV (15%), black dense fruit, ending long but not made for me, *(*- ***?) (939 views) | | Tasted by PSPatrick on 11/9/2017 & rated 90 points: Retailer tasting. The wine was dark ruby in colour and offered floral notes and ripe but fresh fruit aromas on the nose. On the full but polished palate, the wine showed ripe red and dark fruit, spices and vanilla, with ripe, medium-plus tannin, solid acidity and good to very good length of the mineral finish. This cuvée “Hugo” had much better concentration and complexity that the “Les Dentelles”. The volatile acidity was too high for my liking, but other than that I liked this wine. A very good wine that should age well. It seemed a little overpriced to me. (739 views) |
| Domaine Thunevin-Calvet Producer websiteRed Rhone Blend Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.
A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
