It has mellowed past the harsh tannins of young wines into the softer and more complex tannins of a few years on the bottle. The acid gives it great structure and a long lingering finish which is delightful. Strong varietal characteristics, and a good example of what Alexander valley can do if you have the right vineyard. I did not detect much of the green notes that sometimes plague areas of Alexander valley. I am tempted to drink it all now, but I want to see what it can become with even more time, because it seems to have the kind of structure that can go the distance. (708 views) |
